| these are low it is mvd this is not causing this and not so sure this vet did the bile acids correct to begin with as losing a little faith as they should have had this dog to a specialist by now and not jacked around for two days when this dog is this sick sorry to be blunt but this dog should have been with a specialist on their referral by now and to call you on a friday night and say this makes me angry - had the dog been to a specialist earlier in the week it would have saved you time and money. If they did not do the pre and post bile acids correct then results are not accurate and if they gave this dog any drugs like steroids it would have thrown off the test anyway - sorry this is not liver shunt this is neurological please get this poor dog to a neurologist asap and ER is not going to be able to help you this dog needs to be at a specialty hospital facility where they have internal medicine, neurologist, orthopedic so everyone can work together to get to the bottom of what is happening to this poor dog. The fact that the dog had a fall tells me this is an injury related to that fall as right after the fall the dog has had pain and AAI can be from a fall - sorry but this is an urgent matter at this point and is breaking my heart |

| If your baby is in that much pain they need to give her somethign for the pain.. IT takes time for these steroids to work. Up to 48 hours. You need to get her someplace fast. The girls are all looking up docs for you.. Tell the doc you need to take her now You do not want to waist anymore time.. This is your baby you have to be her voice. She can not speak for herself.. You need to push him. If it is AAI he has already told you once this was liver shunts.. I was told the same thing with babybear when I brought him into the doc office the day he died on my living room floor. He was revived thanks to his daddy. And I was told he had livershunts. This is wrong. AAI shows a lot of the same signs of Liver shunts..That is what makes these vets confused. If they have never treated a AAI pup then they don't know what to look for.. I for one have lived with a AAI pup and you are telling all the signs I have seen myself.. Please tell that doc or the doc on call that you need a referral ASAP.. The learning hospitals are usually also ERs they will take you right in. Please keep us updated..

| Hello I know you must be scared worried and in a confused state of mind of why all of a sudden this is happening to your baby that you love. I wanted to share with you that my BLEU BOY BARBER that you see in my avatar is living proof of the AAI/AAS surgery. I was looking at your pictures and one picture imparticular totally reminded me of my BABY. Your yorkie has her neck positioned the same way BLEU BOY has his positioned I see it in your photo. I know your baby must be in a lot of pain. Im so sorry I truly am I am sorry if you have answered all these questions in previous post but can you post them again? 1. How old is your yorkie? 2. When was she taken from her mother? 3. What type of fall did she have? 4. When did she fall? 5. When did you notice the first symptom? 6. What is her appetite like? 7. Where does she sleep at night? 8. How many hours is she left alone during the day? 9. If the doctor said she needed surgery are you financially prepared for this? 10. What is your next plan of action? Sorry I have so many questions I am trying to understand your situation. There is one thing you said that also caught my attention and that is YOUR YORKIE was a runt ... BLEU BOY was the runt too... If this is indeed AAI/ AAS it may not be from the fall and it may be from the fall it could be a birth congenital defect? 11. How many pups were in the litter? 12. Did the mom have any complications? 13. Are the rest of the pups ok ? Thank you again for answering these for me it will truly help me understand your situation. I am available by email and I will give you my home and cell number if you ask me for it. God Bless You I am praying for you and your baby! I am so sorry you are dealing with this and I pray there is a answer soon and she is well on to recovery so you can enjoy her for many years to come. Also My BABE 4 Me her name is Val I know her personally and I know her BABY BEAR she has a great deal of knowledge on this subject as well. By the way I am Vicki and I have 3 yorkies and 1 chiuaua. They are my babies and I would do anything for them Please let me know if you need my help..... HUGS Vicki

| 1. How old is your yorkie? she is 10months old will be a year jan 15, 2010 2. When was she taken from her mother? she was with her mom until may 2009 they lived in the same house. her mom weaned her at the normal time. but her mom was my roommates dog. 3. What type of fall did she have? i just found out from my roommate that roriee had another fall that i didnt know about when i was at work. she rolled down the same stairs but this time she got right back up and didnt even yelp. this happened about a month ago. i just found out this information now. 4. When did she fall? first time was a month ago.. she got right back up. monday night her legs quit working and she rolled down the last 2 steps on the front porch. this time she did yelp like crazy. i ran down and picked her up.. after i comforted her and put her down to eat she seemed wobbly but she walked and even ate a bit.. then she started getting worse.. i picked her up and she screamed bloody murder..,my mistake is not taking her in right then, but she was walking. 5. When did you notice the first symptom? she has been acting strangely for over a week now.. she would yelp for no reason but when i would pick her up to cuddle she would be fine 6. What is her appetite like? eats fine.. she loves her soft food in the evenings and would eat her hard food on and off all day 7. Where does she sleep at night? she sleeps with me always.. on my cheek/neck area 8. How many hours is she left alone during the day? she is only left for 5 hours a day. she is caged when i go to work.. never ever let her roam the house by herself without me 9. If the doctor said she needed surgery are you financially prepared for this? no but i would move heaven and earth to find a way to pay for it. i have already applied for grants and help via the links on the other area of this site 10. What is your next plan of action? getting up early tomorrow and getting her to a specialist. but not sure where to go. |

| We are off the phone now and she is calling them and also said she is taking her in the morning as soon as she picks her up.. This lady is so sweet and so nice and is willing to do whatever it takes to save her baby. A very genuine lady with even some hardships herself. This is her child she has no children she is in her early 60s precious as can be. Very concerned and I might add distraught .. Please keep her in your prayers and please offer her words of encouragement as often as you can. She wants to do everything she can for her baby.

| ok i spoke to a very nice doctor from the university who told me to get my doctor to call him in the morning for a referrel asap. he said it sounds to him like aai or a very bad pinched nerve that is causing all this for her.. he is willing to take her and help any way he can and he understands that i am not in the best financial state but that i will do whatever i can to get her well. so i am going to sleep if i can.. but i have to be calm and make sure i do not overreact in a bad way to the vet as the university vet said he is sure my vet has done all things correct so far.. except for the fact he did not take a xray right away.. hopefuly tomorow she is better.. thank you soo much as i was totally freaking out.. ps.. i am 53 but i am partically disabled myself due to arthritis.. i love my baby.. i have no children.. she is my daughter. |
