| Okay.....I am calm and Bella is in the Hospital, Her leg was not broken but severely bruised and tore to shreds up to her shoulder. They are sedating her and put sutures in her leg. Some of the wounds are so large they may leave open wounds and they cant close them. It's going to cost 500-700 dollars. I can't believe those dogs are so vicious. Bella is so sweet, she just wants to play with them and they tore her leg off. I'll pay what I have to because I love my baby girl and I don't want her to suffer. But I have to confront the people behind me, I just need to know how to handle this. Had they gotten through the fence they could have killed her. Thank you all for you help. I drove myself. I am not suppose to drive but to hell with that!!! Sorry but I couldn't stop the bleeding, and after the 3rd blanket soaked in blood I decided she was more important. I have a spinal cord injury, my feet are paralyzed and I cant bend or twist at the waist.I am very medicated at times. I can walk and I do drive very short distances, around the corner to the store. But I had to drive Interstate 10 into Houston Tx. But I found it and they are doing the surgery through the night. They gave her pain meds and stopped the bleeding. I'm so relieved. I just wish I knew how to handle the neighbor. Any suggestions! |

| Wait, I thought you said it was bleeding slightly?? She soaked three blankets with blood? Oh boy, it IS really good that you took her to the vet! What surgery are they going to perform on her? ado you mean stitching her up? I feel very sorry for you. It must have been very frightening driving on the 10 freeway , at night , alone. God Bless you, Keep us posted. |

| I'm so glad that you got her to the hospital. I'm sorry that you don't have family or neighbor who could help you out in an emergency...you need this for you and your dogs.

| I think you need to talk to someone with animal control. They need to look at the situation and find out the health of those other dogs. I would really like to make sure they have their rabies vaccine up to date. Animal control can help you from there. I'm so sorry! Do you have any updates on your furbaby's condition?

| i am so glad you got her to the hospital. I worried all night over her. I would call animal control but they probably can't do anything since the fence is there. Maybe on that side of the fence, you could put another little cheap fence made of chicken wire or something back two or three feet from the other fence. That way she could see them and yap at them to play but they can't get to each other. I live on a farm and my hubby raises Beagles and this is the way we have one side of our fence set up. |

My little Shadow Donating YT Member | OMG. I'm so glad you were able to get her there if she was that badly wounded. Everything happened so quickly & I know you were frightened & not knowing what to do. I would've been too. At first you thought she had a dime size chunk taken from her foot with little bleeding. It was much worse! Thank God you are ok too with the driving. I'm really sorry you had to do this alone. Pls keep us posted on her condition. Sending for her. Thank you for updating. Take care. Hugs!!

| I'm so glad you got her to the Vet. I can't imagine how hard that was for you to drive that far but we do what we have to for our babies. I hope she's doing better this morning and is able to come home soon. I would contact your local Police Department and make out a report of what happened. This needs to be documented and I'm sure they'll go speak to your neighbors for you. I hope they come to you and offer to pay the Vet bills. |

| Wow. Well, I am glad she got help. When you are determined to help someone you can do things you normally wouldn't! God bless you both! As for your neighbor, do you know them at all? Do you think they would be compassionate and understanding, willing to compensate for what their dogs did? If not, I would maybe call the vet and ask them what they suggest you do. They may have a suggestion to point you in the right direction locally. I have seen people sue in small claims court for one pet injuring another. I'm sure that is an avenue you don't want to venture down, but it is not fair that you have the burden of paying for the vet bills for something their dogs did. I wish you luck, keep us posted! |

| Well Bella is resting, she is home from the hospital. The wounds were worse than expected and they could not close them all. The bill was over 700.00 and I have to take her to my Vet Monday. My husband will be back in town and can help me then. So the bills are still coming.... but my main concern is Bella. While outside in my front yard I talk with my next door nieghbor and he has a yorkie also, He comes to play often with Bella. He has a bite on his lip from the same dogs. I was livid! These dogs live right behind both our house. I put my sweet little girl up and made copies of my Bills so far and I drove straight over there. Not angry just upset. I spoke with an older asian women and told of the incedent. She told me understood and was so sad. I told her this is 2 dogs now bitten. I gave her a picture of Bella and the bills. She said she would have her daughter call me. That it's not her house. She told me they have 5 dogs. I told her i wanted home owner info. I told her I would be back. This is not over. Bella cries every now and then in pain, they have her leg in a cast like thing. She has 4 presciptions The doctor said when her whole leg is like a burn with bites on it,then places were just just bone and cartiladge, just horrible. My poor Bella! All she wanted was to play. They would have killed her! I will call animal control first thing Monday! Thanks everyone |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | That is so awful. Your poor baby and how scary for you not having someone to help you out. I am glad you got her in and she is home now. Definately persue the neigbors. Maybe having 5 dogs is over the limit and animal control can do something. I hate to do that but if the dogs are mean it may be best.

| Wrap it tight with gauze to stop the bleeding after you clean it. I would clean it with soapy water and make sure all the hair is out of the way. If you put pressure on it the bleeding will stop. You can give the dog baby medicine like childrens tylenol to take some of the pain away.

| Oh she has 4 presciptions from the hospital and they have it wrapped in a cast. She can't get to it that way. It goes all the way to her shoulder. The bleeding has stopped. I think the presciption for pain is tramadol. Something like that. I don't have to wrap it, the Vet will rewrap on monday. This is much too severe for me to handle. Bleeding has definately stopped and she looks a little out there. so the meds must be strong. But my baby.....even in the hospital , leg tore up, bleeding, and shaking she still had enough spunk to lift her head to growl at a cat. I love that girl! |
