Stedman isn't doing well again....he has got to go see the vet

Reading this thread has brought tears to my eyes. Poor little guy. I know how painful a uti can be, and I just imagine that the pain for him is 100 times magnified as compared to how it affects us. Sending prayers for Stedman and lots of hugs. I'm hurtin' for this little guy.

Brooke thanks for your update, I'm so sorry little Stedman is going thru this and I hope the meds help him heal. I'll be praying so that he doesn't need surgery and that those things on the x-ray are nothing and they go away. Hugs!

I just got caught up on Stedman, I am so sorry and feel for you. Hope to hear something good this afternoon. Trisksie ate some thread and the Vet was afraid that it would get hung up in the intestines and she would have to have surgery, he gave me flavored vaseline that hopefully would make her poop it out but she threw it up. Good luck, you are still in our prayers.

Hey guys, I just wanted to pop in and give you all a quick update on Stedman. I still haven't seen him poop yet but it is only just after lunch here so hopefully he will have a BM before the day is over....I keep praying for that He is peeing a little better than he was yesterday, meaning more is coming out at a time instead of just the "drip, drip, drip" - but it's still not completely back to normal and he SHOULD be going more than this, more like a steady "stream" if that makes any sense. So, I am going to keep watching that. He ate all of his food this morning and took his medicine very well, thank goodness. So, as of right now, everything is still pretty much the same except that he is peeing a *little* bit more (at a time) than he was yesterday. It's still not great though

I wanted to say thank you so much to everyone for their kind replies....I tell you, I sat here and read every single one of them and you guys are truly amazing. I just cannot get over all of the kindness that Stedman and I have been shown during this whole thing...it is just so amazing to me. I even let hubby read some of them and he said to give you all a big THANK YOU from him as well

I will be back later to respond to some of the replies that you guys left that had questions in them, and also to those who gave me information about the insurance. I guess we really don't "need" it - and luckily we have had no problems paying for their care what so ever, but I just figured that being that they are at the vets so much, that it would be nice to have for in the future - "just in case" - however, I did like the idea that a few people mentioned about just putting some money aside every month in a separate account - thats makes alot of sense!

I don't know why my little ones are always having issues They get the best care, the best food, etc. I just don't get it Stedman NEVER has any problems, up until now. My hubby was looking at some online and several that he found didn't cover half of what Tatum has (all her issues) so that would be pretty useless to us. He did find Purinacare and said that it SEEMED to be pretty good...but who knows.

Brooke, Gayla (Layla's Mom) and I have been looking into pet insurance. With the recent loss of Taffy, Kosmo's sister, to encephalitis, which is what took Kosmo from me as well, we felt this is something we need to get for our babies, Max and Layla, who came from the same parents. And Taffy and Kosmo's only remaining littermate Sebastian, who belongs to a friend of mine.

Anyway, we have decided to go with PetPlan. PetPlan is the only pet insurance that covers inherited diseases and allows you to pick your deductible and your percentage of reimbursement. Of course the lower the deductible and higher percent remimbursement will have a higher monthly payment but it is still resaonable. The gold plan also has other options.

This is straight from their website Petplan Pet Insurance for Dogs and Cats - hope this helps

Petplan policies provide the most comprehensive reimbursement for veterinary fees relating to treatment administered by a licensed veterinarian for illness or injury (provided that it is not pre-existing or occurred during a waiting period) such as:

Just read this thread for the first time today....I am so sorry that little Stedy had to go thur this but I am really glad he is doing better...praying that this clears up for him real soon.
