Certain foods can cause stones and crystals to appear. once you know what kind of stone he has you can check his diet to see if any of the foods may be causing a problem. if you do a google search you can find information about this. what is sted eating now? is he eating a lot of veggies and fruits?

About his urinating. you really need to monitor every time he pees. notate if he has a good stream or a poor one, note the color, and the amount. if you think that he's not urinating enough throughout the day (like he's just dripping or not going at all throughout the day) then you really need to get him to the vet on friday because you don't want all that urine sitting in his bladder, its not good, which is why he may have a UTI right now.

Brooke, I'm so glad that Stedman is home with you. I wish he was completely better. We had a cat that had stones and they basically made him a her! Fuzz felt so much better and spent much less time at the vet's office after it was all over. He lived a long, long time (many years) after the surgery and was a lot happier I hope it doesn't come to surgery with Steadman, but if it does, just remember how much better he'll feel afterward.
Sending prayers your way.
Hugs from Abby, Daisy & Tammy

making him a her is most common in cats. very rarely will that be done to a male dog. the surgeon leaves that as the last option, usually after a few cystotomies have been performed and the stones keep getting stuck in the urethra. I highly doubt this will happen to Sted. Thanks to mypeantabbygra for mentioning this possibility. I only commented back so you, Brooke, wouldn't freak out and think that is what will happen to Sted.

Oh No! I didn't mean to imply that at all! Fuzz had spent a considerable amount of time dealing w/ the stones and (much to Fuzz's embarrassment, I'm sure) the vet said that Fuzz had a small penis to add more difficulty to the situation.

I didn't mean to freak anyone out. I hope I didn't scare you.

Thank you so much Kellie! He is on NV Raw and so is Tatum. They have been on it now for about 4 and 1/2 months, and I know this because I mark EVERYTHING down on my calendar and I just went and checked. They started the NV Raw on March 8th - the exact date. He ISN'T eating alot of fruit and veggies Should I be giving them to him on a regular basis?

I will most certainly be watching him like a hawk when I let him out to go potty so see how much he pees. When you mentioned about the color of it in your reply, it did remind me that the vet said that his urine was pretty dark I believe. I just let him outside again about 5 minutes ago and once again, it was just dribble, dribble, dribble The thing with him not being able to pee only started yesterday, so if this was the cause of his UTI, then it must of happened very quickly

Thank you so much girl - you know I am such a worry wart, lol. What exactly does this mean though? Making him a her? Or do I even want to know?

Thank you so much sweetie and your poor little Fuzz I can't even imagine. I'm not exactly sure what this means but it doesn't sound good I am just glad that your baby was alright and that the surgery made him all better.

Thanks again for your kind words and big hugs to you sweetie

Oh good...I am SO glad to hear that the Laxatone worked well for your babies. I just gave him some a little while ago after he ate (along with his antibiotics) and I said to myself, "I hope this is my little tube of MIRACLE"

I hope it works as fast as the Albon STOPS the dirrhea...that stuff worked soooo fast for Tatum when she had Coccidia.

Awww, it's ok sweetie....don't worry Kellie said that this *probably* won't happen with Stedman so that made it ok And I did get a little (much needed) chuckle out of what you said about Fuzz's small penis...lol....and that it probably embarrassed him....hehe, that was cute
