Thank you so much for the prayers sweetie, they are GREATLY appreciated I do wish there was something that you could put on them when they go outside to stop them from eating things...geez....wouldn't that be nice Stedman never ever ever used to chew on things, but his little sissy taught him to do this as she will chew on any little spec that she finds laying on the ground. She is my little vacuum cleaner I've got to watch her like a hawk.

Awww hun, thank you so much You truly are such a sweetheart. I too try to put myself in his little shoes and I just hate to think of the pain that he is in....it just kills me as a mommy to know that and not be able to do a single thing about it...I HATE IT

I was just going to forget about the insurance because as Kellie mentioned in a previous post, all of my babies conditions are pre-existing so the insurance probably wouldn't cover anything anyway, but I will check in to this one you mentioned just to see what all they offer.

Did the two things that he seen in his colon pass or are they still in there?

Thanks girly I haven't even checked my texts today, but I will as soon as I am done replying to everyone here. The hard things that they found in his colon didn't actually pass (he COULDN'T pass them - they were stuck ) but when they did the enema on him, they did get them out. Actually, they cleaned his entire colon completely out so he is empty now...or was as of yesterday. He still can't poop We are praying that he will tomorrow There was another spot on the x-rays though, a spot by his penis, and we just aren't sure what that is yet The vet acted concerned to me, as am I....so we will see what he says next week when Steddy goes back in on Wednesday

Well guys, everything is pretty much still the same. Nothing has changed since the update that I did earlier today. He still hasn't popped and his peeing is the same as it was earlier this morning. Not "dribbling" as bad as it was yesterday, but still not back to normal and he still isn't going like he should be. Sometimes he does lift his little leg and nothing comes out SIGH....I am praying that tomorrow will be a better day

Stedman probably DOESN'T drink quite the amount of water that he should be drinking...I personally think that he should be drinking more. He is on NV Raw and I do notice that when I feed him dry kibble (Wellness Core), he drinks alot more water. I mentioned this to the vet, and told him that he probably isn't drinking enough water, but the vet said that he didn't think that that is what caused the UTI.

They won't drink as much water when they are on raw. With kibble, there is very little moisture in their food so they have to drink a lot of water. However, the raw is like 70% moisture so they get quite a bit of water from their food...they don't have to drink as much water because of that.

Yeah, this is exactly what I was thinking and I actually said exactly what you did to the vet, hehe. I figured that since the kibble was so dry, it made them want to drink more...and since the raw is more "wet" (has more moisture in it) that they just didn't want (or need?) to drink as much.

This is probably going to sound like the dumbest question ever - but would it hurt at all for me to bathe him? Or should I just leave him alone???

He went through alot yesterday and I don't want to bother or irritate him or anything with bathing him if I shouldn't. I just thought I should ask first, even though it is probably a stupid question

hey Brooke, I cant really answer your question, but if baths are stressful for him, I probly wouldnt do it right now.... just wanted to tell you that I am thinking about the little "chef"... I sure hope he gets all better!

Awww, thank you so much Donna Your little chef appreciates you thinking of him He really isn't thrilled with his baths....but doesn't TOTALLY "freak out" or anything.....of course, I wouldn't exactly say that he LIKES them per-say lol....he always appreciates it when they are over I was just wondering if the warm water would soothe him like someone else mentioned here the other day....and then maybe I could just VERY GENTLY bathe him. I don't know...maybe it really isn't a good idea

Brooke, I want to reiterate that this is almost never something that happens to dogs! I remember having that conversation with my vet.

Maybe the reason Stedman isn't pooping yet is because he was so cleaned out at the vet's office. It may take a while for it too work it's way through his system and with NV, there's so little poo anyway.
I hope today is the day that Stedman really rallys!!!
