Thanks everyone for your concern for me. My surgery is next Tuesday at 7:15ish am. I'm looking forward to it. A couple days of tough pain and then a few weeks of not so much fun pain and then just healing pain. But after I heal, there will be no more pain from that corner!

BUT the GRAND news is that Tink got to come to visit ME today! Peter brought her over to my apartment at 5:00 and I got to keep her until 8:00. Then he came and took her back. It was marvelous, absolutely wonderful, and utterly delightful! I am soooooo happy I can hardly even tell you. She was so excited to be home - I wish I had thot to ask Peter to try to get a video. She was moving her little front legs and trying to thrust her body toward me. Peter was laughing - he said he wasnt one bit suprised. " I cease to be amazed by this little girl" is what he said.

She was making a little noise like a squeaky toy - I don't know what happened to her voice.

I fed her from my hand and she ate it all! Then I sat in my rocker and held her and she went to sleep for about 40 minutes. I couldn't hold her the whole time so I put her in her bed for part of the time. She seemed perfectly comfortable.

Yay Tinkerbelle!~ My little furbaby. I think she's gonna make it.

Such great news!!!:animal-pa:thumbup::animal-pa

Tink's Mom 05-01-2008 06:19 PM

Hi, I got to spend a little time with Tink this afternoon at the Vet School hospital. Barb is still home sick, but her husband took Tink in to work with him and put her in a bed that was empty. She was trying to play with some of the toys I took for her, not very succesfully, but she tried.:) I took an extended lunch hour and then stayed late at work to get my work done.

She is sitting up alot now and can hold her head up pretty well. When she gets tired, she just falls over and lays down. It's kind of cute! Her butt is not moving yet though nor are her back legs. But we'll get there. She loves the water therapy, I hear. I remember I used to fill the bathtub with water so she could tread water after her hip surgery last year. Maybe we can do that again when she comes home. I think I'll sew her a sack to fit around my heck and shoulders to hold her in when I get home. Then I can take my walks and take her with me. Good idea huh!?

Please give miss tink a kiss from her aunt Lori and Bre too..

Susie, that is a great idea to make a sling to hold Tink while you move around. She really is becoming stronger each day, and can't wait until we see a video of Tink at home. Honestly, the improvement is amazing.

Take care and so glad you were able to be with her today. Warmly, Deborah

YorkieMom55 05-01-2008 06:29 PM

Taking her on walks with you.......sounds like a grand idea.
I love that she was able to come home for a little while and visit. Prayers for Tink tonight.

Part I

Okay, I am almost to 2,000 and want to end my final digits on someone so special - namely Tink and Susie.

Even though I have never met you in person, I admire your strength. Tink is such a special pup to me and Charlie. When I think of Tink, there is always Winston, Ginger, Bernie and Moosie.

fufufashions 05-01-2008 06:48 PM

What a wonderful story this is!! I hope you will keep a journal and write a book about Tink!! You really have a way with words and can express your feelings so well!! I just love reading your posts with the updates on your precious little girl!!
HUGS and KISSES! XOXOXO
Love,
Linda & PACK

Part II

I remember all of the fun and laughter we had with Uncle Charlie chiding Sweet Tink about decorum.

And then there was Tink, showing the boys pictures of her fancy crate with special toys. I believe at one instance, Winston was packing a bag and was caught by the back gate in time. Or was that Bernie?

SophieRose 05-01-2008 06:52 PM

Part III

I remember when Tink was crazy about her ortho. surgeon. Even her Momma said he was handsome. Wouldn't Tink become all giddy when she saw him? What a little trooper to have come through that surgery.

Tink's Mom 05-01-2008 06:54 PM

Guess what Tink got in the mail!?

Lookie what Judy (Gingergirlsmom) had made for Tink! A frog nightie!! Isn't it darling? Jodie (LuvmySissy) made it for her. Wasn't that a sweet and cute idea Judy had? I love Jodie's nighties. Remember I just got her a purple Hello Kitty one? She made it with velcro down the front so I can get Tink into it easer. She put velcro on this one too.

Thank you so much Judy! The techs at the vet school wil just love it!

OH, that reminds me - EVERYONE - Tink's frog is wearing out. She sucks on it so hard now. I've repaired it several times, but it's getting beyond repair. If anyone sees these anywhere, please get one and I'll pay you for it and postage. I think I got it at Target but it was over a year ago.

The nightie! and then the frog (the top is green and the belly is yellow)!

SophieRose 05-01-2008 06:58 PM

Part IV

As I look at Charlie sleeping next to me in his bed, I know how much you love her. She is the constant in your life and fills your heart with warmth.

The nights have been long without her next to you, and we look forward to the first post that Miss Tink is snuggled up against your tummy - sleeping.

Wasn't that fun! I think both of them were grabbed and saved from making the long trek to Wisconsin. Tink even packed her bags a couple of times.;)

Part VI

Okay, in honor of Miss Tink

:thumbs up:rose::2hearts2::hearts-xx:big_hug:

Thank you for being our friend, Susie and Tink. Charlie looks forward to more pictures of your beautiful dresses and he will be on the look-out for a replacement frog. Frog is like the "Velveteen Rabbit". Warmly, Deborah

Aw, if Tink were here she would send you a thank you lick on your cheek and a nuzzle for Uncle Charlie. You do know that even tho he is a little old for her, she dearly loves him. But she and Bernie are better suited I think.;)

omega 05-01-2008 07:20 PM

Oh no! Her frog is wearing out? Do you think she would even accept a new one?? Kind of like trying to substitute a little kid's blankie.

I will keep my eyes open.:)

Well, I don't know - I hope so. When we lost her kong you would have laughed your head off if you could have seen what I did to get her to accept the new one - I'm embarassed to even say:rolleyes: When my daughter was tiny and had a blankie, I cut it in half and saved the other half for the day when the rest would be lost somewhere. I was surely glad I did that. Can't do that with a frog tho.:p I think I could make her think it was her old frog.;)

Belindtch 05-01-2008 07:27 PM

We are continuing to send prayers your way. I am so glad that Tink is doing so well. Can't wait until your surgery is over with and you are on the road to recovery. Just keep in mind what it will be like when Tink and you are both home recovering together and things are starting to get back to normal. I am sure you can hardly wait until that day. Tink is such a fighter and such a good girl. She knows how important it is for her to be there for you and for you to be there for her. It is a beautiful story.
