| I'm trying really hard to train Jimmy to go outside. This dog is the toughest to train than any other dog I've had.

| Levi is outdoor-trained...come rain, sleet, or snow, we still truck it outside several times a day.

| Bella came pad trained. She will go outside but I love knowing she can go when I'm away. I just got my second yorkie 3 wks ago and he came outdoor trained. I wish he was trained for either like Bella. Guess my vote would be for pads. So much easier knowing they can go without waiting for me to come home. Also, not having to deal with the weather. The bad part is Bella will use a rug or towel if left in the floor. |

| I tried everything to potty train my yorkie, the bell on the door, the potty pad, the spray carpet stuff so they wont pee there again, the white potty pads, EVERYTHING. I can honestly say three things truly worked for my stubborn little yorkie when it came to house training, Apple spray so she wouldn't chew on furniture, green potty pads that look like fake grass that you change frequently if she needs to go inside, and teaching her potty outside i would take her out there every time she would pee inside and tell her potty outside, so now when she needs to go to the bathroom i can look at her and say potty outside and she runs to the door cause she knows that is one of the 2 places she is aloud to go potty. |

| We pad trained Jack and the trained him to go outside. I think he feels better (more like a "big boy" when he goes outside). But days like today when it was cold and rainy out, he chose not to go out and instead used his pad. He is really smart and really is a good boy. I love the fact that we can leave him at home and not worry about him having any accidents or having to crate him for fear that he will potty somewhere that he shouldn't be. The best of both worlds really!

| Outside when we are home but they will use a potty pad when we are gone or at night if they need to...or on heavy rain days...they don't like the rain and I don't like the muddy footprints across my white floor ![]() Just a side note in favor of pad training...we use the disposable pads with or without the tray that keeps them in place. I know some people believe in outdoor training only but the pads sure do come in handy when we travel and have to stay in a hotel. We had issues with the girls using my throw rugs when we used the washable pads but we no longer have that problem with the disposable pads and that's why we switched back to them. |

| Bella is 100% indoor trained. She goes on whatever I put down IE: newspapers, potty pads, the Potty Patch, etc. I ordered some washables from T Bumpkins and Co and I have no doubt she'll know what to do with those, too. I won't take her outside to potty and she shows no interest in it. There's really no need to, either. That, and it's BRRRR cold here for the majority of the year...I won't expose her to the elements like that. Brussels is outdoor trained, and we're living to regret doing that. His little legs freeze up in the cold. |

| I am finding it very hard to train my yorkies. My male especially will not go on his pee pad but will go anywhere in the house. I have the pee pad down and he will not go on it. When I catch him in the act I say no and pick him up right away and place him down on the pee pad and tell him to go potty he just looks at me and will not go I can wait for hours and he will not go. if I can not keep an eye on him I place him in his crate. I do not know what else to do tried the outside method and even worse does not go at all. I prefer the inside method as its easier especially when its winter and raining its so much easier as they are kept dry and no mess is brought into the home, but for the life of me I can not train them to go... they are sooo stubborn. My female goes pee on the pee pad sometimes but no poop on the pee pad. They are so hard to train. They do not know the difference between which area they can eliminate in. Poop they both do not do it at all on the pee pad. If anyone has any ideas please let me know so I can try it. I am very consistent and praise them if they do go on the pee pad which is very rare but they are still not house trained. I have them barricaded in the living room with 2 baby gates in each entrance so they do not have a lot of area to go and If I can not keep an eye on them I place them in there crates. I do not know what else I can do. They are both older dogs one is 10 months my female the other just turned 1, my male so they should be already fully house trained but I have tried everything I can think of and they do not get it at all. I did buy them from the breeders already at an older age one was 9 months my male and the other was 7 months old my female when I got them. Any help is appreciated I just want to have them fully house trained. Thank You |

| I wish I had trained Susie to go on a pee pad indoors as she is outdoor trained but as she is on duretics we try to give it to her at least 3 hours before we are due to go out so she doesnt need to go but she will still pee in the van, we live in a motorhome and when we go shopping I would like to have her trained on a pee pad but I thik sometimes she does it deliberately to spite us for going out without her ![]() I have put a welcome mat made of coir matting in the hope she will do it by the door but she rarely does it on that, only on the best mats ![]() She is 14 now so training her might be a bit more difficult. |

| Couver and Khloe go outside most of the time, but we have pads down for when we aren't home and they can't hold it.

| Outdoor only!! Pottying inside grosses me out but understand many must use this method! Sncikers came from a dump and it took a long time to get him to potty outside but he did it and now will only go outside. Reesie came to me pad trained and I quickly switched him over, if he has to go and can't hold it if we are not home, he will go on the washable pads I bought from T Bumpkins. Otherwise, only outside. We go out about every 3-5 hours in all types of weather. ![]() Viv

| Most of mine are trained for both. In the warmer months they go outside, in the cold months they go on a pad. It really comes in handy having them trained both ways when your traveling. When I was staying at a hotel and didn't have an outdoor spot available the pad was useful. When going to other peoples house though they go outdoors. A few however are just pad trained. My maltese for example is 100% pad trained. She won't go outside but never has an accident as she always goes on the pad. I sometimes wish they were all strictly out door trained at is seems less confusing for them but I know it wouldn't work because some days I'm gone for many hours and they would just have an accident so I need the pads. There's advantages and disadvantages to both I guess and you just go with what works best for your situation.
