| I did it again tonight. I just can't help it I had a toasted tomato sandwich with Dukes (twice today ) and fresh green beans and a baked potato (heavy on the starch this meal ) I had to add the tomato end and the leftover green beans plus the extra half baked potato to the gallon ziplock I keep in the freezer for "soup". Have I "lost the plot" ????

| Very good Amanda! Yes it was leftover basil from pho. I think I thought about putting in cilantro but decided against it. LOL. But celery did find it way in there.

| And the plot thickens.... speaking of thickening... new to try? take any leftover pork, beef and chicken and their juices and combine over any kind of heat, long enough for all the flavors to meld together..... Yum!

| I do this too! And if I cheat and use canned gravy or any type of sauce or soup, and use a spatula to get the last bit of Peanut Butter out of the jar, or mayonaise... lol!

| I freeze peeled, overripe bananas until I have 4 and then I make this banana bread, which is pretty impossible to screw up: 4 bananas, mashed 1 cup sugar (I use lite brown) 1 egg 1 1/2 cups flour 1/4 cup melted butter or margerine 1 teaspoon baking soda Raisins and/or nuts optional 1 teaspoon cinnamon optional Bake in a greased loaf pan, 325 degree oven for 45 minutes. Test for doneness and bake 10-15 minutes more if necessary. Remove from pan asap and cool on a rack. I also save leftovers such as beef stew, chili, etc. for soup bases. Food is EXPENSIVE.. a real shame to throw stuff out that can be recycled into something delicious.
