| I found this. There are many types of papaya. And I was wrong about the Mexican papaya. The ones we know (or I have been calling) as Mexican are actually Hawaiian. Hawaiian Papaya Information, Recipes and Facts This is the Mexican one, notice the shape is different: Mexican Papaya Information, Recipes and Facts And what I have been calling Thai, is not, it is in fact called the green papaya that actually originated in South America, but most used in Thai and Viet cuisine: Green Papaya Information, Recipes and Facts Notice that shape is different still. Lastly there is another! Strawberry papaya! Strawberry Papaya (Sunrise) Information, Recipes and Facts

| Green papayas are a natural meat tenderizer. If you leave them in too long your meat will turn out mushy...not kidding, it happened to me before. LOL

| On a side note, papaya is good for digestion and heartburn. I take papaya pills instead of tums, even when pregnant-they have to be papaya enzyme pills though.

| So do you mean unripened Hawaiian or Mexican papayas? Or the actual Green papaya?

| I would say the hawaiian papaya. I'm sure the others green work too. But I don't think we import too much of the others. We have it in abundance here. I love green papaya with chicken soup. And the hawaiian papaya ripe is so good. My hubby loves chilled ripe papaya. Just so happened my friend texted me late last night that she had some huge green papaya and squash for me.

| If you click to go onto the actual youtube site, you will see a LOT of people "liked" it. What? All the comments are in German I think, so I can't read what they are saying about it.
