I saw mention of Hickory Farms....One Christmas, ok it was 1974, I worked for Swiss Colony (like a Hickory Farms). I cut up meats and cheeses for people to sample before they bought whatever. It was a fun job if you like people. And yes I dressed like a swiss miss. It was required to wear the uniform. Funny, I hadn't thought of that job in a long time. I loved the pepper jack cheese and the port wine cheese.

I remember going into one of those stores when I was little. I always looked forward to sampling all the cheeses!

Pepper Jack and Port Wine cheeses are a favorite of mine too. Especially with salami

I don't even order cheese on a burger unless it's GOOD cheese (ie strongly flavored) otherwise I can count on all of the calories and none of the taste

Calories are only good if you are tasting and enjoying what you are eating. That crappy cheese at most faster food restaurants (and a lot of nicer restaurants) isn't worth eating IMHO. If I'm going to eat and get fat ~ I'm going to actually love what I'm putting into my (soon to be oversized) gullet
