| Ok.. just reading this thread.. I LOVE cheese.. I don't like cottage cheese or processed cheese. Blue cheese is ok if it is paired correctly (like a blue cheese berger )I have a recipe for mac and cheese that will knock your socks off.. Patti LaBell's over the rainbow mac and cheese. It does call for Velveeta. I love deviled eggs.. hey from the south you know ![]() I cook from scratch, and make mashed potatoes a lot.. I add sour cream. yummmy I make cheese sauces from a white sauce recipe and add cheese, but this is one area that I like using velveeta.. add the sharp cheddar for a little taste. Boiled eggs.. like them dry. I used to boil until the sulfur green ring appeared, I am better now. Love hb eggs sandwhiches with mayo, pepper and salt!! Has anyone here ever made or heard of a dish called goldenrod??

| I'm very curious about pickled eggs. Never had them but I love anything pickled. I imagine the texture of the whites to be kind of hard? Maybe not hard, but firm? How is it? What is goldenrod?

| In our area of the country, we hb the eggs, and then "pickle" them in some red beets and vinegar. They get like a purplish outside, but the inside looks like regular hb egg. I really like the pickle taste on the outside but the hb egg on the inside.

| Oh I may have to try that. what beet to vinegar ratio do you use, and what kind of vinegar? Do the eggs have to be cold or hot? And the pickling liquid cold or hot? Oh and canned beets?

| The eggs are cooled and peeled. Then you put them in a pot w a can of sliced red beets. I add quite a bit of vinegar bc I am a pickle nut. About 1/2 cup vinegar for my taste, but you can adjust. Then add 1 tsbp of sugar (this can be adjusted up or down too to taste). Then heat to light boil, then turn back heat and keep cover on. I just let them in there until they cool completely, and then I transfer to another container and refrigerate. (This is for 1/2 dozen eggs.)

| I love Stilton. Maytag Blue is good too - I buy a wheel of it every 6 months or so. That and their Cheddar. Love pickled pigs feet too - funny was just talking about them with Bruce the other day when I found my recipe for them.

| Never tried pickled pigs feet but my late mil (rest her soul) used to make a killer pig feets soup. Just for me she would also add some ham hocks for added meat.
