| Ha! Sounds delish! No, just some salt and a bit of real butter. Now I can sleep with a happy tummy - had my corn fix. But you've got me dreaming about adding a cheese topping next fix I have!

| My mom serves corn one of 3 ways, plain, sour cream with a bit of salt, or covered with queso fresco. Yum to all 3! I want some.

| When I used to work for [a popular juniors clothing store in every single mall that is very "budget", ie cheap] as a tech designer, I looked forward to my days at 10:00am (1st break, taco truck, chorizo con huevos in a taco), 1:05pm (lunch, yes, 1:05), and esp 3:30pm, when the fruit guy came! He came in a pick up with his wife. They sold fruit and corn (alote?) at first they had it just on the cob and I'd have it Santee Alley style, with the mayo and cojita/chile, then they had it caldo style. My mexican friends told me how to eat it, OMG alote(?) con poquito caldo (?) then added in mayo, cojita, lemon, salt, chile. OMG the only thing I miss from that god forsaken place.

| We eat the cacique queso fresco, or is it ranchero. I have to go check the fridge. All the others smell like feet and I won't touch them with a 10 ft pole. You're close with your spelling. It's elote. And I know what you're talking about. One of my mom's Herbalife clients loves that elote with mayo and stuff. But she's 250-300 lbs and wonders why she hasn't lost any weight. my mom taught us to fear the elote sellers. All I think when I see them is mayonnaise sitting out, spoiling in the hot sun all day. Takes my appetite away.

| the shape is different, more like crystally, not squares. It doesn't taste so chemically. It kind if hard to explain. Supposedly the salt comes from mountains in the himalayas, and large solid blocks of it can be like 100 to 1000s of $$$. I have a tiny jar with small blocks in it and a grinder attached to the top. |

| I don't think I did too good today. 1st: huitlacoche quesadilla (not bad), 2 lengua tacos (the mini ones, ok) 2nd: shared french fries with RANCH with bf and MIL (MIL was the one who ordered them!) I was supposed to eat my salad here. It's still in the fridge. ![]() 3rd: don't know yet, but we came back from Fresh and Easy and got procuitto wrapped chicken and rice (?) and red potatoes which I will share with bf, hopefully I won't eat anything else.
