the shape is different, more like crystally, not squares. It doesn't taste so chemically. It kind if hard to explain. Supposedly the salt comes from mountains in the himalayas, and large solid blocks of it can be like 100 to 1000s of $$$. I have a tiny jar with small blocks in it and a grinder attached to the top.
