Absolutely! Going to have to ask what the Kedgeree is though. I just found out what kippers really are recently. As I recall is it ?herring? that is packed in salt or something and then split open with the two halves still attached or something like that? I've already forgotten the particulars - I googled the term. I bought some in a tin once but never had the backbone to open the can and had to trash it after a year. How are kippers in a tin different from say sardines? I just love to have a Brit to ask some questions of!

Watched the last episode of Downton Abbey and thank goodness for the way it ended - not to be a spoiler! I was ready to smack both of them for being such ninnies for so long!

Tee hee! Kedgeree is basically undyed smoked haddock fillet, rice, eggs, onion (and a few other tasty morsels!) a good recipe is at www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/10421/kedgeree

I've never bought tinned kippers so I'm afraid I've no idea how they compare to tinned sardines... www.kipper.co.uk

Oh! It's essentially(underscore)england if that helps?!!? Some very Victorian recipes on there!

As for kidneys, if they're properly prepared and cooked - they're delicious! But I HATE liver What a strange English woman I am!! x

I've learned I really like to slice off all the outer layer including the white - is that stuff the pith(?), leaving just the juicy pulpy part and then slice and eat that. It is so juicy and sweet. Like eating orange juice!
