Addicted to the Green Smoothies....Yummy....Been doing the 10-day Green Smoothie. Cleanse by JJ Smith and losing weight Yah!! Didn't think I would like it but my sister convinced me to try it. I never thought that mixing spring mix, spinach or Kale with frozen fruit was going to taste so good. I think that once I finish with the 10 days I will stick to having one for breakfast. |
:) Well, we have been very naughty tonight....deep fried calamari rings, French fries...loads of vinegar + salt + tartar sauce....bit of salad on the side (with a whole load of French dressing...) plus hot French baguette simply oooozzzzzing with butter - woo hoo!!! :D :D xx |

Lays Kettle Cooked Wasabi Ginger Potato Chips before breakfast! |

Though I am envious of harrysmum (when am I not envious of the meals you post?!) I am pleased to say we just returned home from a fabulous day at the county fair and a tad ill to admit that today's diet was: cereal, Taco Bell, cookies n cream milkshake, an elephant ear and some cotton candy. At least we ate a corn dog and an onion flower at the county fair last weekend- geesh! :p but it was super fun and we won't see it again til next year so until then....:) |
Cinnamon Toast. |
Tonight my little Vikings and I (with lilahs accompaniment and supervision of course) gathered most of our dinner from the garden. We picked beets, lettuces, various tomatoes (mostly cherry style, mostly sun golds), carrots, slicing cucumbers, lemon cucumbers, zucchini, and a ton of surprise August strawberries! We made a major salad (I topped mine with tender steak from a recent BBQ and delicious blue cheese) and had beet greens sautéed in butter with onions and garlic, fried zucchini and corn on the cob (mine is still growing so that didn't come from our garden- yet). We topped off dinner with a dessert of strawberries and blueberries covered in cream and sugar and I will proudly note my six year old begged for me to cook four little overlooked beet greens before he ate his berries (I happily obliged). I hope that makes up for our fair day indulgences of yesterday! Lol. |
Nothing :( . . . Trying to find something |

Fahlafels' First time I made them! Really Easy to make and were delish. I bought the Tzaziki sp? sauce. Made a cucumber and yogurt sauce too. What really makes them so very good is all the fresh market veggies. This year the tomatoes are marvelous. Tonight I am making a tomato soup - new recipe. I am also making some French Bread and a Strawberry Peach pie - if my peaches have ripened up:) |

THe peaches were not ripe, so no pie, how-ever this morning they are and the pie is in the oven as we speak. We will have pie with French Vanilla ice cream. The new soup recipe I did not like at all, but my family said they did:thumbup: So tonight it is Lamb encrusted with a mustard, olive, spread. A beet salad, and cauliflower, along with a rice dish. Haven't made up my mind what kind of rice I am cooking. Dessert is the pie :D And the French Bread will need to wait until tomorrow. It takes time to do the bread with 3 separate risings, and usually only enough time to do a quick run to the store. Or to walk a dog;) So you have to be around home for 3-4 hrs. |
@Harrys Mum: What is Runny Honey? Here we get all kinds of honey in the summertime, why I love the open air markets so much. I love clover leaf honey. I think it means the bees are feeding on the clover, it has such a delicate taste. I have never bought grocery store honey as it is all processed to death and beyond. |
