Thanks Kathy. Also I forgot to post that the oncologist and I had a conversation; where-in I said something like' I'm so glad we went ahead with the chemo, cause I'm pretty sure Zoey would not be alive today! The doc said when I saw her last week, we were looking at a dog dying before our eyes; and yes I agree she likely would have been dead now without the treatment.

Now the original appt I had tried to set up at VEC in Toronto was for April 4th, thank God, I'm the nasty, assertive momma, that said uhoh, I don't think so; and got her into a specialist much sooner. April 4th if we had went with that VEC appt is TODAY!.

That is so scary to think about. You just keep on being that nasty, assertive Momma! Lol!

I have just overturned the rock that I have been living under. I have not seen this thread until tonight and I just read every post. My prayers are with you and sweet Zoey. I am so sorry that you have both been going through so much. I commend you on your strength, knowledge and persistence. Prayers to you and Zoey.

Glad to hear Zoey is responding so well to treatment. And I'm esp. glad you went ahead and followed your heart to advocate for the best of the best for your girl. Your gut told you, she couldn't wait, and like the good pet owner you are, you went with your gut!:D

I've been thinking of you and little Zoey; I'm happy to read your updates. You two have sure dealt with a lot lately.

And this? -- "All of your prayers have given her medicine wings!" -- loveth it.

Assertiveness pays off, especially in this instance. I am so happy to hear that she is responding so well to treatment. I will continue to pray for Zoey. Is there anything the specialists recommends for something easy to eat that could put some weight on her?

Thanks Kristin. Looking forward to my wkend off. Play with pups, eat good food, walk and meditation, and some entertaining is on the "books" for the long wkend.

Thank you Karen. For sure I know that YT'ers know the lengths we go to for our pups - whether they are Yorkies or not:) And it is such a huge relief to have a place where folks truly understand.

Thanks Lisa. Please hold her in the light of your abounding love. Is there not a candle lighting ceremony over passover? I'm a bit vague of course about the details if there is one.

Thanks Ann - I appreciate all this positive energy whether it is through prayer, healing light, positive thoughts, I believe all of this makes a huge difference.

Well the thing of it is she actually started to eat late Thurs last wk, and she has been eating 6c or 3lbs of food a day since then. But remember she was really swollen and the steroids plus the chemo took her swelling way down. My hope is that weight loss was reflective of all that waterish weight being excreted.

Well she has a great home cooked diet. She has been getting steak, salmon, lamb, beef, and chicken in rotation. Of course mixed with veges and such.

The key weight is going to be next wk to see if she maintains/gains/or loses.

I always hold you and your family in my heart, and I wish you much health, love, blessings, happiness, and magical moments. I pray each day for Zoey to gain her strength and some weight and for her body to heal. I also am hoping for her to go into remission from her illness. I've grown to care about all members of your family, and I always have high hopes for you.

I'm not sure of the significance of candles with Passover, but this year they coincide with the regular Friday night sabbath candles. I always light candles for loved ones on the holidays, so John and I have lit them for both of our moms, our babies, and my very dear friend, Diane. It's something that brings me closer to them during the holiday, but they are always very close in our hearts. Thank you for thinking about me. I hope you had a wonderful time with your friends today and that you have a Happy Easter tomorrow.
