I did get Zoey to eat some lunch today. The best way is to have the other two dogs in the kitchen and we all do some obedience work; simple stuff, sit, down, stay. Then she gets excited and wants praise and the "reward" which of course is food. She is turning up her nose at sausage, and the salmon, and will only eat the steak. :( I have to guard against Razzle getting any pieces she might drop specifically when I was feeding the salmon, which she loved loved yesterday:confused:

She is much more energetic and is happily guarding the front window with her other barker in guarding Razzle.

My hubby is looking now for in home "pet euthansia", he was really broken up yesterday and wouldn't eat dinner cause he/we were so worried about our Zoey.

I am a bit more hopeful today, that she might make it to her next blockbuster chemo on next Monday.........

This disease is truly a day by day life. WE are now constantly asking ourselves, is this the day, is the time? It literally breaks our hearts to see her backslide like this. :rain:

Sending big hugs, hope tomorrow is better.

Your story has touched my heart, and I find that I am often thinking of Zoey and her battle throughout the day...so please continue to share, and we will all continue to send strength and clarity your way. You are so in tuned with your dogs, I am sure you will "hear" Zoey when she tells you that she is tired of the battle.

There are so many people here that care, not only for you, our valued and much loved member of our community, but also for your beautiful Zoey. Her story has really touched so many hearts. I come to Yorkie Talk, and each time I do, I am flooded with so many different emotions. There is the joy that the love of a dog brings, but so much of the time coming here tugs at the heartstrings. Our babies overtake our hearts in an instant, and to think of anything ever happening to them makes us shudder. You love your Zoey so much and are so committed to doing the very best that you can for and always act in her best interests. We come here and we share, learn, create bonds, and we begin to really care about the people and all the pups of YorkieTalk. Your story is very sad for us, but it also makes us think about what it means to truly commit to and love a dog. We hope that we are given many years with our babies, and even if we have a long time, it's just never long enough. They leave us with such love that stays in our hearts forever. I hope you continue to share what's in your heart, and we will continue to pull for both of you. I pray for precious moments shared with Zoey and for renewed strength and much love for both of you. We care so much and are here for you.

Stopping by to see how Zoey is doing today. She and her mom are still in our prayers.

Rosemarie, Kristin,Nancy,SweetGirls, Lisa and Gidget.

Thank you all so much for your thoughts, prayers, and kind words.

Today's update is a mixed kind of thing.

zoey at lunch hour actually had good energy, and appetite. She ate about 1lb of food.

Tonight when I get home; she wouldn't eat dinner for Dave, and only would she eat 2 measley small pieces of cheese for me.

Her throat nodes are pretty swollen.......

I'm pretty sure most of last wk she was eating well; and now not so much.

I hope for a better tomorrow for her.

I'm also hoping for a better tomorrow for all of you.

Still sending lots of hugs and prayers for all of you,

This upcoming Monday. It's the big one, with the really strong chemo drug, and she has to haave a heart echocardiogram first. If this drug doesn't remove all the swelling; then the oncologist said ; I'd be highly concerned":(

At least today she ate Breakie and Dinner - and then a pre bedtime snack as well:D

We went to the park for a 15 minute walk - and she loved being out near the pond. I didn't let her off lead - cause it was too cold out and I didn't want her to get her paws wet.

How-ever the swellings are very hard and apparent on her neck particularly - but she has seemed to have gotten her appetite back:)

:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: Please continue to share with all of us....you need to vent and get the suppport of this "extended family", and we need to hear how little Zoey is doing in her battle......

Well it is Friday. And Monday we go in for the what I've called in my mind the blockbuster chemo treatment. Accompanied by another eye exam and an heart echocardiogram. And for this treatment we are to fast her for 12hours.

Zoey is still eating well, and her tail is up, she is happily barking against all comers. But oh dear the nodes on her neck feel like multiple golfballs, although a bit lower than what I felt before. Groin nodes are still swollen, but chest/shoulder area are down.

I truly don't know how I feel, but hopeful is not close. Hopeful was a continuing reduction in swelling, which I thought would give us a shooting chance for remission.

I read the thread about the little one with Lymphosarcoma, the Yorkie in England I believe. And I see where they have decided on prophylatic treatment. I read what their vet had said. and another notch in my heart has been made.

I'm so tired. I guess I just don't feel like Monday's chemo will work. I dread finding out if I am right.

Dave and I keep busy here, gawd knows there is always lots to be done. I go to bed tired and sleep maybe 4hrs and then wake for the rest of the night.

I'm so sorry you are all going through this. You are in my thoughts and prayers daily... throughout most of each day actually.

gidget529 04-20-2012 12:18 PM

:ghug:I think we all need to come up to Canada and give you a couple of groups hugs. You sound physically and emotionally exhausted. You and Zoey are in our continued prayers.
