We definitely had hoped that the vincristine would make a good difference, cause it did the first time. I'm not second guessing my decision to treat her three wks ago, but fear is staking out my heart. Her condition could change tomorrow. Or even tonight:) for the better is what I mean |
Help fellow researchers and internet Savvy folks Alright - I'm reaching out for our folks here who have a passion and expertise on the internet; and for maybe vet techs, or even vets. Okay the question is: There is a protocol/treatment for Malignant Lymphoma; that utilizes half body radiation. But what i've read so far, is after successful? chemotherapy treatments have been done. Can anyone link me to articles/cutting edge research on utilizing 1/2 body radiation - even if chemo is not successful for this cancer? |
Keeping Zoey in my prayers. I hate cancer!!! |
Gemy, I am so sorry you are having a hard time coaxing Zoey to eat today. I found some info on half-body treatment in the Journal of Vet. Med. Here is the link. Chemotherapy followed by half-body ... [J Vet Intern Med. 2004 Sep-Oct] - PubMed - NCBI I think you could find more info looking around their site also. We're going to continue to keep Zoey and her mom in our prayers. |
Thank you for that link |
Thinking of you and that sweet baby tonight. You will all be in my prayers as you go through this next week. |
I am so very sorry. I sent you a PM before reading much of your thread...I still have a bunch more to read to catch up on what's happening with Zoey. I really do hope things turn around for Zoey. I know how you feel. I lost a heartbeat kitty before learning the additional info I needed for her. :hands::hands::hands: |

Today's Update i don't know if you all are getting sick about reading about Zoey and myself and what we are going through; but it certainly helps me to write it out. I did get Zoey to eat some lunch today. The best way is to have the other two dogs in the kitchen and we all do some obedience work; simple stuff, sit, down, stay. Then she gets excited and wants praise and the "reward" which of course is food. She is turning up her nose at sausage, and the salmon, and will only eat the steak. :( I have to guard against Razzle getting any pieces she might drop specifically when I was feeding the salmon, which she loved loved yesterday:confused: She is much more energetic and is happily guarding the front window with her other barker in guarding Razzle. My hubby is looking now for in home "pet euthansia", he was really broken up yesterday and wouldn't eat dinner cause he/we were so worried about our Zoey. I am a bit more hopeful today, that she might make it to her next blockbuster chemo on next Monday......... This disease is truly a day by day life. WE are now constantly asking ourselves, is this the day, is the time? It literally breaks our hearts to see her backslide like this. :rain: |
You are coping with such powerful emotions each day with Zoey, living with hope, fear, anguish, sadness, and such everlasting love. They are so very exhausting and difficult to bear. I am heartened to hear that Zoey has responded more today but so sad that you must consider such quality of life issues. She must be responding a great deal to the love that she feels from you and Dave. Zoey and Razzle must make quite the guarding pair. You and your Zoey remain in my prayers and heart always. |
Prayers continue for Zoey...I do hope she does better with the next treatment. (hugs) |
