Thankful that today DH got a good report and don't have to go back until sept. |
Oh Betty, that is wonderful news! So so glad to hear that. God is good!:D Kathy, yes, I'm looking for a stone to put in the back yard for Stuart. He loved to crunch the snails (ewwww!) so I've been looking for something along that line. Haven't found anything yet so I may go with a little memorial stone instead.:) |

I've decided to start looking for a rescue baby to help us out with our lonely days. I'm so used to all the noise Mr. Stuart made. This house just seems empty. Tink is doing well now but still lonely for Stuart. I think it's gonna take awhile for her to settle in to a new routine. She still goes to where his bed was each morning to wake him up and then looks up at me like "Mom? where'd he go?" Poor girl.:( |
Did you find one?? |

I just don't know!! |
Susie, you'll know when you see him/her. Your heart will tell your mind what to do. Good luck!!! |

I have decided to have a good day despite any obstacles :D |
I hope you had a good day |
LOL i did :D |
Good Betty. Glad you had a good day. :) I'm fostering a boxer boy for two weeks. Oh my, he is a wonderful dog but oh my my he is big!! My kids want me to have a bogger dog who can be trained to help open doors and other things. I have some problems with my hands from RA. I like him a lot. He's so good with my 10 mo old grandson. Lets him pull on his skin, climb over him, pet him with a hard pat. :) He really likes Tink and Tink is quite comfortable with him now. Took a couple of days but tink isn't afraid of him any more. She doesn't like it when he puts his paw on her though. She just runs away. ;) BUT he is too big for me. :( It's too hard pushing him off of me or stepping over him. My back is fused and very fragile and I don't have good use of one leg now. I can't run the risk of him knocking me over or my falling over him. He is so good he wouldn't hurt me on purpose but his size is the problem. So maybe a smaller boxer. I'm looking at a smaller girl who is supposed to be good with babies and small dogs. The foster coordinator will be back in town today so I'm gonna call her. Sigh...:( |
Sorry it did not work out. You will find the right fit. |
Is it deceased yet :D |
Nope!!! |
Is what deceased? Don't even think about it!! ;) Fitzgerald went back to the rescue last week and I'm still waiting for them to call me about the smaller boxer I saw on their web page. Fitz was such a good boy but he was just too big for me to handle AND he snapped at Tink one evening out of the blue! So that had to be the end of that. :( I can't believe I've gotten through an entire year without Tink being sick with something! It's amazing. She did have the problem with her knee but she appears to be managing that very well. YEA!!:D |
Susie, sorry it didn't work out with Fitz. But you will find the perfect dog for you and Tink, don't ever give up. I hear you were going to meet a female boxer. Let me know how that goes. Tink has had a pretty good year, as has Winston...may they continue on the road of health for a long, long time. |
I found her! Sunday afternoon I met the smaller girl boxer and she is wonderful. She's still settling in but she is gonna be great. She walks well on leash, is crate and potty trained. She loves Tink. Tink likes her but ill a little nervous of her size. BUT they are playing together! Her name is Tala and she obeys! Can you believe it? She was with her foster-mom for two months so the first night was scary for her. She cried and cried but by morning she was much better. She's still missing her but it will be OK. Foster-mom said she would come help any time if I have problems with her or she doesn't settle in because of missing her. So, last night I paid the adoption fees and now I'm waiting for the paperwork and then she's mine! Oh, she gives nice kisses too! |
I am so happy for you and Tink. I'm sure you will fall in love with her, if you haven't already, and she with you. What a wonderful thing you have done...bless you!!! |
Kathy, I really like this girl. She's so big compared to Tink but very small compared to standard boxer size. I got a fluffy pad for her crate last night and a bed for her. I got her a snuggle bed since she seems to like to curl up in small spaces. So far the only bad trait is that she likes to get up on the couch. She gets right of when I tell her but I don't want her up there cause she sheds - not a lot but still. Since I got Tala all this new stuff, I got Tink some toys too so she wouldn't feel left out. ;) Last night was the first night she let me sleep til the alarm went off. YEA! Betty, how are you and your husband doing? I'm still praying for him every day. |
Tala will eventually realize what a gift to her you and Tink really are, and she in turn will show you unconditional love. Best not to let Tink think she is being forgotten, be sure to give her some mommy time too...and the new toys doesn't hurt...lol. All in all things are looking good at your house, she'll quickly learn your disapproval of her being on the couch and stay down. Praise her when she does!!! |
That is wonderful to hear. Congrats. You need to post a pic of her |
1 Attachment(s) Oh, whoops! I thot I had. But nope!! Here she is trying to fit into Tink's bed.;) |
Susie, Tala is such a pretty dog, she really is. The picture is so cute, is that not a larger bed next to her? lol...funny how they love to curl up and snuggle in like that. Does Tink sleep in a bed too, or does she sleep with you? If so how's that working out? My co-worker has 2 boxer's, when I told her you were wanting to adopt one, she said they are well behaved, wonderful dogs, but she has boys and said they can be a handful walking them together. |

Tink sleeps with me but her snuggle bed is on top of my bed and she sleeps in it. Tala is happy to sleep either on the floor at the foot of my bed or on some pillows I put down next to my bed. She kind of patrols the house at night. I used to keep the bedroom door closed but she paces so I opened the door and let her have the house at night. She is very good although I'm sure she gets up on the couch cause I've found little Tala hairs on it. She won't do it during the day cause she knows I'll make her get off. Still trying to help her learn to play with toys. She wants to so badly but she just doesn't know how. She is very aware of Tink's size now and is pretty careful of her. It's so sweet.:) |
This is all sounding so good, for the three of you. Hope she continues to feel more and more comfortable in her new home. Tink knows how fortunate she is to have you and Tala is learning this as well. So happy for you!!! |
