Susie, who will be helping you after your surgery? Do you have home equipment - walker, raised potty seat, reachers? Shower chair? Make sure foods are at the easiest level in the refrigerator.

If I lived closer, I could help you with medical equipment, grocery runs, clean sheets, food. Do you have Netflix?

I have both an ambulator and a rolling walker, a comode, a raised potty seat, lots of reachers, two shower chairs and everything I need is no higher than eye level.

You are so sweet to offer the help. I know that you understand the situation. I've hear of Netfix but I don't remember - what is it?

Right now I'm in a wheelchair but I hope to graduate from a walker to my cane by the end of summer. I just bought another really pretty one.

I use this equipment all the time because of the RA and my fused spine. I can't bend well so I really rely on the reachers - they are wonderful. I love the sock hand too. Without it I wouldn't be able to get my socks or pantyhose on in the morning!:eek: I know - TMI!;)

I have friends at word and at church who will help me with whatever I need. I just have to swallow my pride and ask. That is soooo hard for me. I'd rather do it myself no matter the pain. But I really can't keep doing that anymore. It really is not the right thing. I rob myself of the help and my friends of the blessing of helping. So, this surgery, I'm swallowing my pride - ooooo bitter!!!

It sounds like you are set at home, and I know asking for help is difficult. Pride ... I know all about that word. Although people do want to help, Susie and we need to be able to say the simple words "thank you, I would appreciate your help".

Netflix is the movie rental that is sent in the mail, Netflix Online Movie Rentals - Rent DVDs, Classic Films to DVD New Releases. Very handy and inexpensive.

Take good care and so glad that Tink is in excellent care. That was always such a worry when I would have surgeries, my little Sophie.

Susie, I sent a card to you & Tink today. I hope it gets there quick. Maybe they'll send it over on the Lake Express to Milwaukee for me, it's only 80 miles that way.

Geez, and I missed you both...I'm good, how about you two? It's been a rather hectic weekend here. The hospital I am currently working at, built a brand new facility...how exactly do you move an entire hospital you might ask...it wasn't easy! It was actually done over a period of days...but it never really was closed...I believe there were two hours that both were fully functioning. Now I'm just tired...but tomorrow is MONDAY!!! We'll find out if everything went smoothly...or not.
