Yup . . . |
I believe so ;) |
Here we go |
Teri, Stuart and Tink are both on Fromms Senior. I talked to the vet on Monday and she is fine with my trying the oil. She doesn't think there is much more I can do for him at his age. He'll be 15 next month and most of that time he was not well taken care of. I just want him to be as comfortable as possible. Today he is much more frisky - literally, he was trying to hump Tinkerbelle a while ago, much to her dismay! Is one brand of the oil better than another? What's your experience with it? |

I just bought a jar at our health food store here, it's the Nutiva brand. Just make sure you buy the cold pressed oil that has no other ingredients than coconut. We just started using it and so far they love it. I'm hoping it will help Moo with her yeast/allergy issues and rebuild her immune system along the way. There are several threads on YT about the coconut oil along with some links I'll post one here for you: Coconutoil.com - Research on Coconut Oil's Health Benefits Here's one thread where they're talking about it but there are others too: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...conut-oil.html Several members feed it daily to their dogs and one mentioned that she even brushes her dog's teeth with it. Coconut oil has so many health benefits to humans and it's even great for cooking or putting on toast...I had some in my oatmeal yesterday morning and it was pretty good. I plan to start using it myself and I wish I had known about it a long time ago! Tell Tink to keep her eyes open and her guard up! ;) |

 You go Stuart! You dirty little old man you. Hey I am glad he has a little ump still. I could just imagine Tink :eek:wtf |
Teri thanks for the info. I'll check out the links and go get something today. Good to know your fluffs are happy on it. Verbena (are you a Teri too?), thanks for the laugh! Stuart was an intact male when I rescued him last March. They neutered him before they would let me take him and he doesn't understand! Hilarious to watch him. Tink is just so confused!! Hey, another topic - I've been grooming Tink like a poodle the last couple of years. We did Yorkie cute the first three years and then poodle the last two. I think she looks better in the poodle cut because her hair is sooooo thin. BUT, her ear hair just doesn't look right in a poodle cut, being so thin. So last night I got the scissors out and chopped off the length of her ears. Now she looks like a terrier. They need to be trimmed up some but I think I like it. Now they won't hang in the water dish all the time or get all matted. I'll try to get a pic today. |
All is well :) |

I don't have a fever but I'm sweating like a little pig. I ache all over too but I don't have the flu thank goodness. I wonder if it's Cedar Fever. My daughter gets it every Winter but I've not gotten it yet. |
I am so sorry your sick I hope they figure out what is going on |
Well, happy anniversary to me...I joined YT 7 years ago today...I think it's time to get out of this chair and take a little break. Take care thread kids...see you soon! :wavey: |

So, my CT scan results came back and I have pneumonia in both lungs. No wonder I've felt so badly.:( My fever finally broke yesterday evening. It got up to 103! Yikes! So now I have a new round of antibiotics and some strong prednisone to try to knock it out. Sigh... Tink is sad cause I'm not playing with her but she knows I'm sick. She keeps climbing into my lap to lick my face. Poor baby. :( |

Susie...my pharmacist told me to be sure and eat a yogurt or take some probiotics or something while taking antibiotics to replace the good stuff the meds would kill off. It's easy to end up with an overgrowth of yeast in your system if you aren't careful so you have to counter balance things sometimes. I hope you feel better soon... |

I'm feeling better although I'm still very weak and coughing. I think it will just take some time to heal. I haven't been this sick with a cough in a very long time. Gotta go finish getting ready for church. I'm gonna go sit in the balcony away from everyone and wear a mask. I haven't been able to go for three weeks and I really miss the fellowship. Since my cough isnt as bad now I think I can go and not drive everyone nuts. It's easy to hide in 4000 people. ;) |
I am really glad you are feeling better |
Make sure the yogurt says "live cultures" on it. New research shows eating raw furmented foods is even more effective against yeast...like raw cold canned naturally furmented pickled vegis etc. |

I'm doing pretty well now. Still coughing but not that deep productive painful cough. I went back to work this week. I work from home, so I'm not spreading anything. But even so, it was tough sitting at the computer and hacking. LOL:rolleyes: We've had a nice mild winter in my part of Texas. Watching the poor east coast last night and this morning. Memories of my 35 years in Wisconsin! Hope everyone there is safe! |
I'm glad your feeling better. I hope your painful cough clears soon. |
Hey lil' big thread. I'm feeling better finally. Tink and Stuart got groomed yesterday and they look so cute. I had trimmed Tink's ears really short and asked the groomer to trim them up so they looked good. She did a good job. And for the first time she was able to trim Stuart's entire mouth! Yea!!! He hates having his mouth touched and it usually takes me more than a week to get it trimmed up with scissors. Tink is doing very well and Stuart is back on predisone and feeling pretty spry. Bless his little heart. Tink is trying so hard to take good care of him and get some playtime out of him too. It's cute to watch. Well, night night Thread. I'm gonna go get warm under the covers and count some sheep. See ya soon. |
Hey thread, I can't believe tomorrow is March already. This year is flying by at lightning speed! Stuart has decided that the couch is now His domain. I put some doggy steps on one end so he can get up there and so up he goes. But if Tink wants to go up, she has to wait until he's sleeping or she gets a crabby growl and barking to get down. Ha Ha!:D |
