Are ya springing for a limo for prom, Sneri? Do you know what his date's dress looks like? Prom dresses today are nothing like what I remember....and none of the girls I went to school...built like they are today either.

I was shopping for custom slipcovers. Thought I will spend the money to get really nice slipcovers. Changed my mind....I don't need $800 (for ONE couch) worth of nice.

I can't believe that Taylor guy is still ON AI. He reminds me of a bad lounge singer....if you were good and plastered...he'd be entertaining....without booze...he's just goofy. I think his grandmother and all her granny friends are voting for him.

Last night...I painted bathroom trim, the medicine cabinet, a mirror frame, and a wrought iron piece. Then I put my deck furniture, 3 thousand potted plants BACK on my newly stained deck. THEN, I took all the stuff off my walls in the kitchen....cause it's being painted as we speak. I still have three porch chairs to paint. My step mother loves painting....think the fumes are gotten to her....any way....she's painting my kitchen. I'm thinking I'm gonna ask her if she wants to paint porch furniture...cause I sure don't.

PS Sent a pm to miss cat eyes 'bout the both of you, Sneri and BM...NO DISSING TURTLES. Turtles have feelings too. Btw, I had those little green ones..(6 of them at one time...lounging by their little plastic palm tree)....that gave ya diseases. I don't remember ANY kid ever catching anything from those little green turtles. Think they lied.

no, I just yelled and said open the damm thing, you're turning my hair gray over this. If's it's not sent, I'm never using UPS again, then I hung up.

LOL Prom dresses are NOTHING like what we had.

You sure work too hard Deb, I can't stand the smell of paint. When we painted our Kitchen, I took off for a week, came back when everything was put back together


Yep, they lied, they just didn't want their kids to have a sweet little turtle.
I so remember my palm tree. After my sister's bright idea of putting him in our suitcase for a trip to Grandmothers house, I didn't want a turtle again, we sent him down the brook with flowers.
If they sold them here, my kids would have one.

I had those little turtles with the plastic island turtle tank complete with plastic palm tree.

We feed them chopmeat and lettuce.

My anal probe is finished...but think you may need to have your head examined...LOL. WTH is a prom bid? Ya gotta bid to go to prom? The hotels here will NOT allow anyone under 24 years of age....to stay alone. Including rental houses....same rule applies to the Outer Banks. If they catch you....you get thrown out...no refund. Nothing rented to non-family groups.

You only THINK the girls aren't going. Took a poll with group of gals while lounging on the deck....out of 8 of us...only 1 didn't do something married people do. Made up my mind then....dd is NOT going to prom.

I take it...turtle didn't survive the trip...over the river and through the woods.

I had a box turtle once....they don't survive if ya drop them on the driveway either....their "house" cracks.

A prom bid is the ticket. That's the dumb term they use around here.In our HS. the Jr's gift to the seniors is paying for half the prom so we only have to pay for 1/2 the amount.


As for the girls, exactly why my DD will never go to prom.

Here the people down the shore don't care as long as you are 18. Tuesday is Senior cut day. Yesterday, they actually had an assembly with a few of the police from down the shore reminding the kids that they are responsible for damages and that 18 year olds are legal adults.

Notice it's down the shore. Applies to the whole coast. I wonder people all ready down the shore call it down the shore if they go further south.

Well, I'd be down the shore from you....we don't call it the shore. Dat's Joisey talk....it's the beach.

Forgot to mention in today's paper were cooked lettuce recipes. Would you like them? Appears not too many people have devoted time to developing cooked lettuce recipes.

Something new to do with lettuce....other than balsamic vinagarette.

See I think we are the only ones who call it "down the shore" once you are down the shore then you go to the beach.

Grilled (?!?!?) lettuce - cut lengthwise into halves, leaving a portion of the core intact to hold the leaves in place. Baste with olive oil and grill it on a medium to hot grill. Turn frequently. Cook til fork tender...only takes a few minutes. Serve with hot bacon vinaigrette. Or bastes with mixture of OJ, olive oil, orange zest and pepper. I'd say the biggest problem in taking this into work for lunch....is hauling your grill around.

We have the eastern shore...it's a peninsula but people still it the EASTERN SHORE...at least the part in VA.

Only you would come up with the grill thing. I burst out laughing. Think they might consider that a fire hazard. I can see it now me grilling in my office.

Hmmmm, all are shores are on the east?!?!?!?!?! But that's really the beach, so it would be the eastern beach after you get down the shore.

We also have to pay to get on all our beaches. For the most part they are privately owned.
