| How much was that worth? Can't imagine waking up this morning and being 403 million dollars richer

| Sigh If I were to win it it would since I've retired not while I was working. Ever notice how often people are retired already that win?? I always like the ones that win a hundred million and say, I'm going to keep working at my job!! Right!!!!

| Yes, I've noticed. It usually is somebody elderly that wins. LOL At a previous residence in another state, our neighbor won a small one. I can't remember the amount, but it was less than 10 million. They have a modest home that one would assume they would have left or at least enlarged. The only purchases we saw for the two years afterwards that we could see was the husband bought a yellow mustang and they had new asphalt put on the drive and widened it a bit. I have friends still there that tell me they are still in that home. I would say they were already happy people and that win didn't do much to create more happiness for them. Just fattened their bank account. |

| For the past few years, my 82 year old mother has been battling cancer. I went thru all the paper work for a FMLA. Turned the paper work in and would take off to take her for Her cancer treatment. HR came to me and said, they were going to have to take disciplinary action against me for taking her to treatment after turning in the paperwork stating how often she needed treatment. I mulled it around in my head for a week and came in the following Friday and said, I'm retiring. HA I didn't stay to train a replacement even. After 40 years in the same place, it was time to go!

| That's just awful that they treated you that way. Good for you for retiring! Prayers for your mother. My father died this time last year due to a botched brain surgery due to cancer. Horrible disease. My heart goes out to you. |

| I don't see how they could possibly fire someone after 40 years. You did the right thing. Thank you. |

| They did me a favor. I was 60 and weighing on when to retire so, it worked out ok. There is one guy there that will have 50 years in this year. They become institualized . They don't know what else to do with their life or, the feeling I retire next thing is death! I had several people my age die off while they were working . That was a deciding factor for me too
