We had a kid that lived down the street from us that moved here from Michigan. He spent the entire winters in short pants while we were all bundled up. Even during an ice storm one year where we all had multiple pairs of pants, socks, gloves, etc., the boy was out and about wearing shorts.

We've been running the AC all through February this year. It quit on us yesterday and will feel like a furnace in here this afternoon.

My mother, on the other hand, will probably still have the furnace running. She does like it hot.

I was thinking of a winter get away but it's so nice here no reason to go .

However, march might turn out nasty

Hoping not. It's an El Nino year; so looking forward to the beach in March.

What beach? You're a ways from the gulf?

We have a place in Bandera that we spend much of our time in the Spring and Summer. We run down to Corpus and Port Aransas often.

I didn't realize how big a population corpus has

It wasn't large back in the good ol' days. Now we spend most of our time in Port A because of it.

Looks like that would be a nice place to visit in September

At the end of September. It can still be blistering at the beginning of September.

Hmm that's a 17 hour drive from here if I made that trip

South Padre island is much prettier but further. For 17 hours, I bet you can find a better beach.
