| This was just so all wrong on so many levels. First, I don't think Ellen meant any harm at all to anyone. She made a mistake and she has paid dearly for it. To start with, when the rescue called to (called, not paid a visit) to check on Iggy, she told the truth. She could have just said, Iggy is fine and been done with it. She could have even said that Iggy is visiting my hairdresser and family for a while because he loves their children. Then, no problem but no - she told the truth because she thought she had done a good thing for all concerned. And I believe she did. It went sour when the rescue lady got all bent out of shape because a rule had been broken or a clause in a contract. Common sense went out the window. Would the rescue have come unglued so readily had Ellen not been a celebrity? Would this have escalated to the level it has. IMHO she wanted to show Ellen that just because she is a celebrity she "get by with anything" because she (rescue lady) was still the boss no matter what was actually in the best interest of the dog or othr |

| Hmmmmmm must be a limit on words or something As I was saying it didnt matter at the time what was in the best interests of the dog or other people involved as long as she could prove to Ellen that it was she (rescue lady) that was calling the shots. What an ego maniac!!!! I agree with everyone also about how hard it can be to rescue an animal. So many that could have had perfectly good homes already still await rescue because the rules are too strict. Poor Iggy - this was so unfair to him and to those pre-teen girls. But now we all know who's the boss!! Good grief! God save us from the ego trips those in power have to take. PS Guess even though this was a long post it could have been made in one. I thought it was limited but it was a key sticking on my computer. Sorry bout that. ) |

| I will tell you what I would do in her case.....of course I'll probably never get a rescue after saying this. I would read the contract (not that much to read from a rescue and I'm sure Ellen did too)then if I had a dog for a month and it was somewhat my fault that I could not get it to work in well with the rest of the family and I had to give it up, I would not want it to go back to the rescue to sit behind bars and maybe be put down. It would not take me a minute to decide to give my pup to a loving family I knew to take it in at that point. Of course I would think they will never know the difference but it could happen and this is what happened here I'm sure. The main job of rescue is to make sure that a dog that has already been brought to rescue does not come back again, it is way too hard on the dog. Like I said before restrictions are way too strict but I see ours does it on a case to case basis which makes sense since every dog is different as well as every family. People also take on rescue animals to sell at a profit and this is another reason these rules are in place but I would not have cared a bit. I would have to suffer some of the consequences but this woman is seeing money signs and once all the law suits and counter law-suits are over we probably will know no more about the truth than we do now. I now found a link saying 14 was a part of the contract

| How could anyone actually adopt that dog after all of this? I couldn't in good conscious adopt Iggy knowing what that rescue group did to that family..

But I'd bet money some psycho-crazy Ellen fan somewhere thought "AH! This is the same dog Ellen had! Wouldn't it be cool if I got it?" and then managed to pass the inspection. Then again, it could have gone to someone who didn't really care where it came from or all the drama, and just wanted a dog to love.

| There is so much we don't know. One scenario keeps running through my head and it may not be right but Ellen gets the larger dog, the woman comes out and picks up the larger dog because it wasn't working and gives her the smaller pup and thinks to herself will she have the nerve to call me again if this doesn't work out. I bet she might give it or sell it to someone.......so I better keep an eye on this one cause then I could sue the pants off her. And now she can add to that lost business etc and all the threats she says she is getting. Poor Ellen is in for a big fight I'm afraid and if it were me doing this she probably would never check.

but if you did not think Ruby would get Iggy back, would you want him to go back to the rescue group??? with an "unknown" future .... I hope the new family does not get into the public spotlight ....

| She slipped this in close to the end. http://images.eonline.com/static/aud...llen101707.mp3 it takes about 3 or 4 minutes to download so don't think you are not getting it.

| Megan, I hope this is the case since that is exactly why Ellen went through all this so this poor dog would not be sent back to rescue. I'm sure they have homes approved before all this started ( or I would think anyway) Soemone else said they hoped the new owners would not be made public and I hope that too.
