| I have the same problem. I put a cold compress on the back of my neck. And if that doesn't work then a Maxalt and a Lortab always does the trick

| I get real bad migraines and the pressure with the weather sometimes triggers them. But a headache before the migraine is like an aura for the actual migraine. I sometimes have my BF massage my neck or back...or do yoga. The stretching helps relive the pain. Or I stand in the shower with the water as hot as I can stand it and roll my neck around stretching out the muscles. If all else fails...off to the acupuncturist and get poked a lil with the needles before the actual migraine kicks in. GOOD LUCK. I feel your pain!!!

| For my weather headaches, the only thing that helps in Tylenol sinus (extra strength). It goes away quickly.

Peeka Boo I See You! Donating Member | you want to take anti inflamitory medication like iphprophen(sp) the reason you get a migraine is because the blood vessles swell at the base of your skull i get them all the time and i get them severly i'm talking they make me sick to the point that i throw up and can't move. The ice pack at the base of your neck and head is one of the best solutions i would suggest. If it gets reayy bad you can go to the emergency room and get a migraine cocktail shot but i seriously have never had them work for me also when you start to feel one come on you need to take meds right away to help stop it after it has progresses nothing really works. When i have a migraine and i take a lortab it useually makes me really sick. Please try the ice pack it has worked for me when nothing else has. i hope you feel better soon

| I've had migraines since I was 10. I didn't realize that was what they were until I was 19. They began giving me Imatrexx for them and they are a godsend. I don't get them as often anymore. I get mostly tension headaches so I go to the chiropractor once a month and also take a lot of ibuprofen and the occasionaly muscle relaxer.

If you get Migraines often then talk to your doctor about Topamax. You have to take it everyday but it lessens the frequency and severity of the migraines.

| Advil is name-brand ibuprophen. Excedrin migraine is fantastic!!! Not everyone can take them, though, so take the lowest suggested dose (probably 1 tablet) at first to make sure you don't get any side effects. I don't think you can get Lortab in Canada, but it's sooooooo good lol I'm not sure about Maxalt - haven't heard of that one - I'll look it up in my Canadian drug books to see if we have it here.

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | Girl I have one right now too - actually I have had one every single day for the past 3 days and it is about to drive me insane. I am so SICK of having them all the time! South Texas gets VERY hot (humid) and every year when summer rolls around I start getting these MASSIVE headaches. The only thing that helps mine (other than getting out of the heat) is to take Advil I hate taking it all the time because I know that it is hard on your stomach, but it's the only thing that helps my headaches. And I talked to my father in law about it (he is a doctor) and he said that it's fine as long as I don't take them EVERY SINGLE DAY...which I don't. But I do take them when needed!

| I have had migraines since I was 8...they have tried; Dilantian, Maxalt, Imatrex, Loretab, the cocktal,Topamax, birth control pills, Toperal, Zomig...ALL kinds of things. I can't stand the feeling of not being able to move my neck after taking the migraine medications...the feeling of being paralyzed scares me; plus it never takes the pain away 100%. The Topamax was a crazy medication for me; made me mentally retarded the ENTIRE time I was on the medication. Didn't know who I was, where I was going , drooled constantly. I would be walking to the bathroom and forget where I was going. And the tingling in my face the medication gave was horrible. I found that taking something to put me to sleep works best. BOOOO I hate migraines! I hope I never pass them on to my children...I got mine through my father.
