I have really severe migraines so I go to a Neurologist for treatment. He gives me the Maxalt which is a non-narcotic migraine abortive medication similar to Imitrex (which doesn't work for me). The Maxalt doesn't completely get rid of the migraine so I have to combine it with a Lortab which is a narcotic. I also take a Phenergan because migraines make my stomach upset. If it gets really bad then he gives me the Migraine cocktail shot which I have only had to do twice.
If you get Migraines often then talk to your doctor about Topamax. You have to take it everyday but it lessens the frequency and severity of the migraines.
