| I have problems with my legs at night too. I take a magnesium and calcium supplement and it really helps. Don't take more than one because they can have a laxative effect. You can also take a mineral called Dolomite which is also magnesium and calcium and I think that it works a little better but you have to look a little harder to find it. I always take one at night when I go to bed but if my legs are really bothering me I'll take one earlier. In about 15-20 minutes it's better. I hope that this helps.

| my aunt has restless leg syndrome... all summer she didnt sleep because of her legs.. she went to the doctors and he diagnoised her with it and gave her medication and she sleeps so well now... you should bring it up with your doctor. had she known she wouldn't have waited so long. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I have it AWFUL !! It started right after my first son was born and I've gone all these years kicking and running while I try to sleep - it's horrible. It isn't painful but man it's so hard to get comfortable and you end up moving all night. The only thing that helps is sleeping pills - which I don't take because they're too expensive ....or Requip which makes you feel funny the next day. The Requip really does work but man they push it .....for someone with no insurance it's also expensive but if it weren't for those commercials I'd have never known what I have. You can get samples from your doctor and try it - but follow the directions - you have to start with a small dose and work your way to a normal dose over a 2 week time. You wake up tired every day with RLS - worse when you get older.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | To tell you the truth - mine isn't painful - there is another condition I just heard about having to do with circulation - something like PAD ??? CAD ??? I can't remember - but there is pain associated with that - RLS in my own experience is not painful but more annoying and VERY uncomfortable. It really really disrupts sleep...I know I haven't had a good nights sleep in years due to this ....and I do mean YEARS My husband is really good about feeling bad for me when I'm up and down all night long....a really bad night will get comments like "You must be so tired - you were runnin from the cops again" lol That's my joke about it ....but it really isn't funny to have this. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | oh and another thing. I don't know if you're on any meds for depression etc. but to let you know - they will make RLS worse. caffiene does too. |
