My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | ![]() I'm interested too. My problem though is I need to be told what I can eat. And it HAS to be simple food. I hate to cook and bake. I'm a very simple cook. Meat, potatoes or rice and (can)veggies. Thats what I cook. I eat ALOT of chicken breast, my favorite. Can you list what we can eat??? So no potatoes or rice at all ? What about cheese? |

No potatoes, no rice, no flour, no sugar, no pasta. But I have found there are now excellent foods available to take the place of most things. Shirataki noodles are an excellent replacement for pasta. No carbs, very few calories. There is a brand of "flour" tortillas that is REALLY good (a lot of the low carb tortillas are yucky though so I'll have to find out what the brand is) and I cut them up and fry them to make chips and have guacamole. Put cheese in them and make quesadillas. I don't have this kind of thing until I've been on the diet a while though. You can have most green veggies & mushrooms, no carrots. If you absolutely need something sweet, a slice of apple, a couple strawberries or blueberries are ok because they are higher in fiber content.

I should ad though...make sure you can do the Atkins plan before starting...people with kidney problems shouldn't do Atkins. The South Beach plan is similar to Atkins and it was written by a cardiologist, it's still low carb but I think it's also low fat. I compared the grocery list to each and it seems the SB plan was more expensive to do than Atkins. Last edited by my2boyz; 12-27-2006 at 01:20 PM.

| ![]() THat sounds good to me! For lunch today I cut up chicken, tomatoes, green onion and cucumber and mixed it up with ranch dressing and it was yummy. My husband's favorite thing is boiling chicken in tomatoe sauce with chili pepper and garlic. He is addicted to that. |

| ![]() Yay, another member! Here is my goal, maybe you all could post yours too. I had 3 goals, I'm on my second goal right now which is 30 more pounds. If I get there, I'll be at my pre pregnancy weight. And I will be extremely happy with that!!! But my ULTIMATE and 3rd goal is 20 more after that which is what I weighed the day I met my hubby, it would be extremely thin for me and I don't think I can do it.... ![]() |

| ![]() So, what's for dinner? I'm having grilled salmon with a maple/mustard sauce and sauted broccoli with red pepper strips...and later I'm having rocky road ice cream for desert! |
