| ![]() I lost 30 pounds on Weight Watchers about 5 years ago. I like it because I took a nutrition course while I was on a sabbatical. Since you can eat whatever you want on WW, I ate very healthy food, did portion control and went to the support meetngs because I firmly believe that if nobody knows you eat it, it has no calories. I've pretty much maintained that weight - upped it by 3 pounds - it had gotten annoying. Of course, you have to cut carbs, but not entirely. In fact, I'm a little over my 130 lbs and have gone on a pasta, fat free butter, salt and garlic dinner regime. For some reason, this works for me, if I do portion control - about 1/2 plate. Everyone's body is different and you have to figure out what food groups work for you and make you feel strong and healthy. You should never feel hungry. I learned a lot and found that it's pretty easy to eat healthy: 6 portions of carbs/day (portion=1 piece of bread or 1/2 cup of carbs - use low fat, whole grain, fiber-filled, etc.) I'm pretty sure low carb diets provide an energy source instead of carbs. 3 -5 portions veggies = 1/2 cup each 2 fruits/day = small apples sized portion - some fruits are more fattening than others 2 portions protein/day = cooked - palm size, or the size of about 3 meatballs some meats are healthier than others, fish is good, peanut butter (low fat), etc. -doesn't have to be meat. Healthy fats - I use flaxseed oil which contains the omegas. My hair, skin, etc. were really awful on a lo3 fat diet until I started the fat supplements. It's like giving our babies Missing Link - what a difference it makes. WATER - for some reason, water really works and it's not because you pee a lot and then weight less. I really think if you go on a low carb diet until you get to your goal weight and then follow a healthy way of eating, it can work. I think the hardest psrt is making the cdommittment - it took me 3 years to get ready. |

| ![]() By the way, how cool is it that dark chocolate is now considered healthy? I have 2 squares/day and have to see if I start to gain. I was 136 lbs. in January, now I'm 132.5. 2.5 more pounds to lose. I hope the chocolate doesn't add poundage. I LOVE CHOCOLATE!!! Judy |

| ![]() O.k. ladies...I'm still on the lo carb bandwagon here. Where is everyone lately? Did we all lose all the weight we wanted and just disappear?? Anyway...I have a question. Everyone says 'drink water, lots of water' but how much exactly? Since I was little I heard drink 8 glasses a day...o.k...what size of glass? Is that 8 - 8 oz. glasses or 8 - 12 oz. glasses or what? I drink bottled water and each one is 16.9 oz. I think...if I drink 4 a day am I getting enough? |

| ![]() I'm still here! ![]() ![]() I've lost 50+ pounds. I started adding a little more carbs and I was still losing 2 pounds a week consistently. But I started exercising as I am needing to tone up as you can imagine and I stalled a bit, I HOPE it's because I'm building muscle as my clothes are fitting super nice. Since I have cut out all sodas and only drink water, I am amazed at how much I CRAVE water. I drink atleast 4 bottled waters a day, but sometimes I drink more. I think your body tells you what you need. |

| ![]() No...you're not alone, I'm still out here! Congratulations on your loss...that's major! How close are you to your goal? I still have a few to go but at least now I can fit into my shorts and jeans that I couldn't wear last year. I think if I lose about 5 more I'll be able to fit back into my Lucky Brand jeans...they're my favorites...I've missed them! I really want to start walking again but my husband can't walk like he used to and I really don't want to go alone. Maybe we could drive over to the mall and he can have a cup of coffee while I walk. I'll figure something out! |

Thank you!!! My goal is to be the weight I was when I got married, which is 20 more pounds. I wanted to be that weight by my birthday in August. I think I'm going to do it. I'm pretty proud of myself, and I can't believe I'm actually successfully doing this... | |

| ![]() How are all you ladies STILL doing? Still losing I hope! My sis and I are going to start Weight Watchers. I have about 10 pounds I would like to lose. My problem is that I will have to eat MORE food than I eat now...I know my problem is not eating enough and my body running slow because it does not have anything to do! Anybody else doing the Weight Watchers? We are getting the points calculator...it seems like a pretty neat gadget!

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | ![]() Just, please, everyone be careful and please use moderation. Low-carbing can lead to eating disorders, obsessive weight loss and all kinds of things. I know first hand, my friends. There are even studies on what excessive low-carbing can lead to. Just use moderation! We do need carbs for our body's very function, so don't go overboard...as low-carbing is notorious to lead to... ![]()
