| Both hubby and I started doing the exact diet as you are doing...this past Monday.......he is a diabetic too.......I will tell you that a year ago, his blood sugar was around 300-400, and since he cut the carbs, it is down to 105. I got on the scale this morning, thinking that 6 days on Low Carb would show some results..........WRONG. NOTHING!!!! Now, I am going into Thanksgiving week with no results from last week....urgggggggggggggg. But, if you can do it, so can I. All my good clothes are to tight..... I have got to stay with this...... |

He is 32 and was on 9 pills a day. That is ridiculous. Even if you are not successful on this diet, stay with it just so your husband will do it! I am so scared for my husband's health. Anyway, tell me what you are eating. You should have lost atleast 5 pounds of water weight the first week as the diet is a natural diuretic. How many carbs do you think you are consuming a day? How much weight do you have to lose? We've basically been doing the Atkins diet, I was real strict on how many carbs I consumed for the first few weeks, like hardly none, but lately I've been adding few more and still losing. So that makes the diet a little more manageable for me to stick with it. | |

| Wonder if age has anything to do with it. I know that I have not had more than 10 this week per day......seems I remember that you HAVE to have 20 or you won't loose. I eat for.... Breakfast 1 egg, 1 piece of sausage Lunch beef patty, salad diet coke dinner.....chicken, salad with ham, salad dressing italian. snack, almonds.....sometimes..... But, it may be the water thing.....I do not drink a lot.....I remember reading in the book that I am "metabolic resistant". Because I do not loose fast.... As far as how much I need to loose......lets just say.....I am 5'8.....and would love to be a size 10. Which I am not....more like a 14+. ...yuck! |

| You don't have to have 20 carbs a day to lose. Many people have to find success in much less than that. Check your italian dressing. They have carb options salad dressings, we get the ranch, it is so yummy and 0 carbs. We put that on everything, like dipping chicken in... You have to get off the diet coke as much as possible and drink more water. Have you bought the ketone testing strips? You get them at the pharmacy. We call those our mini weight watcher meetings. LOL Get some and see if you are in ketosis. My mom is 56 and used to be real successful at this diet. But now she has to work harder at it. She is a diet coke addict and thinks that both the diet coke and her age/hormones keep her from losing as much weight as she used to be able to, but she still does, just takes longer. Good luck!! |
