Children laughing is kinda scary to me...maybe that's just how it's been protrayed on tv and in movies to I am just associating it scariness...

Anyways, I would love to hear more of these stories!

So we really don't want to move. If we can ever re-finance, we are going to get siding, and a privacy fence all around. I will have to take some pics and post them. There is a "possible" second story above too. It isn't finished out though, there was a fire that messed it up years ago.

We love the house and as long as "everyone" is happy...we are staying!

when I was in my 20's and working in a factory ( sewing books)
I was on 2nd shift. When it got dark, they only had half of our floor lit, the back half was dark. That's the way to the bathroom, anyway everything was fine, then one night, as I was coming back from the bathroom, in the dark area, I felt someone watching me, following me, I b-lined it for my sewing machine, my friend Caroline an older woman, asked what was wrong, I said nothing, and went back to work. The next night same thing, this went on for a few days.
Then this one night, when I went to the bathroom, again I felt someone watching me, I turned around and saw an older man standing there smiling at me, he was wearing what looked like a green work uniform. I didn't recognize him. At this point I was afraid to go to the bathroom by myself. weeks went by, still feeling someone watching me. this was always on my mind, and friends thought I was loosing it. I talked to my mom about it, and she had me look through old family photo albums.. she told me to let her know if i see this man...well I did, he was my great grand father. she said don't be afraid, he is watching over you. I wasn't afraid any longer.

I lost my mom to cancer 5 years ago, she was 50 years old I was only 28. We decided to move into her house which is the home I grew up in, I took care of my mom while she was sick, and her favorite lotion to use was Cucumber Melon that is her smell and to this day to smell it always make me think of her, anyway I was in bed my first night here and my bedroom filled with the smell of cucumber melon, and it has done this many times since.

I was missing her really bad one day and driving out of town I was talking to her while I was driving and telling her how much I missed her and a car got in front of me with the tags that said "miss u 2" I had to pull over and cry. That will never happen again!

My then 2 year old was at my oldest son's soccer game and he looks over at the end of the field and gets the biggest grin I have ever seen and starts waving I asked him who are you waving to and he tells me Gram is here don't you see her, She had never missed one of my son's games and this would be the first one she hadn't been to guess she was there after all!

Finally, my then 2 year old was playing ball in the back yard and the ball kept rolling down the hill, he told me not to go chase his ball that Gram was by the ball and she was bringing it to him.

I think little one's see what we can't because they are open to seeing the unknown.

Oh and my hubby says my grandma's house is haunted they bought their house super cheap back in the 60's a murder/suicide happened there, and my husband says he feels the presence of a woman in the bathroom which is where the lady was killed, he didn't know that at the time I had never told him until he mentioned it first!

Default I know my Mother is okay

I lost my Mother on Sept 1 2005..totally unexpected as she was
in great health for 85..never been in the hospital, took no medicine
but she passed in her sleep 10 days after we threw a huge surprise
birthday party for her. Anyway, back to the thread topic; A few days
after her funeral I had a dream..it seemed so real...I was in her kitchen
and she walked in the back door...I was excited to see her but worried
and asked, "are you okay, do I need to take you to the hospital"? She
replied,"No, I am fine" Mabey just a dream but I did feel better because
of it. This year on her birthday..I had her on my mind all day...after work
I was stopped at a red light..in front of me passed her car (i sold it months
earlier and hadnt seen it since) (there was no mistaking it as there was a
huge dent in the passenger back door where she collided with a motor cycle)
Anyway...felt it was her saying "Hello" There have been more times things
happened but I cant remember them at the moment. This is fun, love the stories and I BELIEVE TOO!

I agree, made me cry remembering how many times I have recieved signs like that from my Mom. It is such a comforting moment, huh?I feel for you grayson's, I think we are never the same when we lose our parents,no mater the age. I'm 52 and losing my parents have made me feel like an orphan. I miss them both terribly at times. Just today I was thinking how I wish I could hug my Mom one Last time..

we lost our daughter to heart disease when she was 21 after having 4 open heart surgeries between 20 months and 12 yrs old. which she outlived the dr.s expectancy by 4 -5yrs. she died in my arms in her bed suddenly. she was engaged to a great young guy. after it was over, i went to the cemetery several times a day. i only have a son left who was married, and he nor my hubby wouldnt and still dont talk about it like i feel a daughter would have. one day about a week after she died i was at the cemetery, not another person there at all. i would talk to her and i was saying to her that now i feel so alone with nobody to talk to, when suddenly, with everything so quiet, i heard footsteps in the gravel drive behind me just a few feet from her grave. i thought my husband must have parked across the street from the cemetery as he would do so often and walk on over there.
so i looked around to see who was there and there wasnt anyone, just me. but i know i heard footsteps behind me about 4 steps. you dont mistake footsteps in gravel that easily for something else when its deathly quiet. i told my older sister about it and she said, maybe someone was telling me, i was NOT alone. but yet she still told me i didnt need to be over there alone that late in the evening, which i think she was right about both things, it was getting on towards dusk dark.
ive had 2 dreams about my daughter in all this time, but i wont talk about those because its too hard. because i saw and felt her in my dreams. i just will say, i can still feel exactly how her skin felt and both were so real, its like losing her all over again when i wake up and shes gone. its too hard, so i dont like to have those dreams. its been 18 yrs now and i think of her still all the time. sorry , this was so long.

I have dreams about my dad. Its gray. He is waving. I only know its him because I know its him. Its just his silohouette. He has the clouds around his feet. He is trying to tell me something, He keeps waving his arms and I cant understand what he is trying to tell me.

i had an older cousin who died in a car accident a day before her high school graduation in austin, texas i was only 5 years old when it happened so i do not have any memory of her. my family has always said i look so much like her that we could be twins, everytime her parents came to visit from austin they would stare at me for hours and cry. i was very shy when i was little i would hide behind my mom and never say a word. one day we were outside my grandmothers house and my aunt was just in a daydream, i was sitting on a chair in front of her and i can still remember the feeling i got, it was a warm good feeling and something telling me to get up and give her a huge bear hug, so i did just that. my aunt started crying because she said she was thinking of her daughter and saying how much she missed her hugs and when i hugged her she felt the same feeling.

(((((((Bama Yorkie Mom))))))
I'm in tears thinking of how very difficult those dreams must be for you.

In my earlier post I talked about what happened to me at my fiance, Ross's wake. I've had many 'dreams' where he's either stood at the foot of my bed and talked to me, or sat on the side of the bed and talked to me. When I wake...(or was I asleep?) I am so devastated because it was so real. More real than what just our memories allow. In those dreams there is touch, smell. Things which we don't remember on a day to day basis, but they are locked in our minds, somewhere, forever. It's been 23 years since he died and those dreams are very few and far between now. I haven't had one in a long time. I hope he's at peace.

***********

My fiance was very close to my best friend, Mary Lou and her husband. The four of us did everything together all those years ago. This couple now lives in a city far from me but we are still close and talk on the phone often.

A few years ago, Mary Lou had a friend of her son's staying at the house for a couple of months. His name is Dan. Dan went up to Mary Lou one day and said 'I don't know if you're going to believe me or not, but every once and a while I see a guy standing on your stairs...he's looking at you guys and smiling. He's not scary...he looks really friendly. I thought I was going crazy but I've seen him more than once.' Dan was very upset 'cause he didn't think Mary Lou would believe him.

MaryLou, asked him to describe the guy he saw on the stairs. He described my fiance to a 'T'. He even described a small dimple he got on one cheek when he smiled. She immediately hauled out some photos and asked if he could point out the guy in any of the pictures. He pointed out my fiance from a group of people and shouted 'that's him!!!'

Mary Lou explained to Dan what had happened to Ross and how dear a friend he was to them. She wasn't surprised at all to hear that he was watching over them. Though Dan was a bit freaked at the whole idea of seeing a 'ghost' (for lack of a better term), he was relieved that Mary Lou believed him and that he wasn't going crazy!!

I was glad I wasn't the only one that felt his presence.

My aunt bought an old whore house (sorry, but it's what it is) anyway and it has the original bar and everything in it. They hold old war reenactments and everything there. She redid the house to the period, there's even secret cubbies from where the girls used to hide their stuff in the walls. We used to dress as saloon girls during the town celebration.

Anyway, my aunt's granddaughter used to talk about a woman in the house, a spirit. She's the only one who ever saw her. They even gave her a name.
