| ![]() I've had a lady come on Thursday mornings for ever and it is so cool to come home and everything be neat and clean again. I've even been known to use that day for beauty shop appointments and feel totally pampered. I recommend it and I don't feel like it spoils your family because there are still plenty of chores for the other 6 days a week. It is also good for all of you for you not to feel totally taken advantage of. Good luck. |

| ![]() most maid service will require you to pick up before they come to clean. most just clean floors, dust, bathrooms, laundry so you still have to have the toys put away....things off your counter....to me, when i had a maid, it was more work to get the house ready. and when they only come once or twice a week, you still have the other days that you need to clean. i think the best advise is to have everyone in the household contribute and clean everyday before bedtime. make sure their rooms are picked up, they have put their clothes away. my little girl who is 3 already cleans her room everyday. puts her clothes in her drawers and has the room picked up before bed. it's hard training but it is worth it did i mention, my husband is a clean freak......he is not scared to wash dishes by hand...he does laundry everyday....he vacuums the ceiling fans once a week.....oh my gosh...i get tired just watching him

| ![]() So why are you actually PICKIN UP after the 3 guys? I would SO stand myground and not do ANY of their laundry and only my own. i also would make my own food and wash only my own freakin dishes and hide them for myself to use. it is HARD and gross and messy but eventually they will catch on and do SOME things. My husband does ALL his own laundry now. UH that was because for some reason all his always got bleach spots or ripped when I did it...Go FIGURE ![]()

| ![]() When I was working fulltime and my husband and I were both making good money, we had a woman who came once a week for 2-3 hours. She basically cleaned the whole house, including vacuuming, mopping floors and an occasional window. It cost us $60/week (1800 sq. foot house). However, we don't leave anything laying around. I'm not sure a cleaning person will pick up stuff laying on the floor. I "trained" my hubby and kids right from the beginning with laundry baskets in each closet. When you get undressed, the clothes go in the basket and only in the basket. It was well worth paying someone to come home to a clean house and I really didn't do much in-between (maybe an occasional dusting or vacuuming). I hate housework and look forward to the day that I get my bills paid off so I can once again have this luxury!!!!

| ![]() I grew up with a maid coming twice a week. My mom is a doctor and my dad is a professor at a university.....and my brother and I were in a million extracurricular activities. Anyway, we were expected to do basic things (clean our own bathroom, make our own bed, laundry in the hamper, wash our own dishes, etc...) but she would do the laundry and keep the entire house spotless. She was really cheap....like $80 a week for a 6,000 sq. ft. house plus laundry. I think it kept my parents (especially my mom) sane. I'm married now, so I don't need one....and truthfully, I don't mind cleaning, so I probably won't be hiring one unless absolutely necessary....

| ![]() I don't have a cleaning person right now but I want one in the future. Hubby really helps me out A LOT -- in fact, I think he does more cleaning then I do LOL!! He does the dishes without being asked, vacuums without being asked, cleans the ENITRE bathroom for me -- he's just great. I think team work is important when it comes to cleaning and simple household chores. ![]() ![]()
