most maid service will require you to pick up before they come to clean. most just clean floors, dust, bathrooms, laundry so you still have to have the toys put away....things off your counter....to me, when i had a maid, it was more work to get the house ready.
and when they only come once or twice a week, you still have the other days that you need to clean.
i think the best advise is to have everyone in the household contribute and clean everyday before bedtime. make sure their rooms are picked up, they have put their clothes away.
my little girl who is 3 already cleans her room everyday. puts her clothes in her drawers and has the room picked up before bed.
it's hard training but it is worth it
did i mention, my husband is a clean freak......he is not scared to wash dishes by hand...he does laundry everyday....he vacuums the ceiling fans once a week.....oh my gosh...i get tired just watching him
