				 | I think the industry has really made a mistake touting all these "bag less" vacs. I understand a lot about the air flow on these type of products because I sell industrial filters for dust collection and the premise is sort of the same. When you have a bagless vac you wind up with about 3 or 4 filters in various parts of the vac, sometimes you don't even have a clue where all these filters are. So while it might seem easy to just dump out the dust in the receptacle what is happening is there are pre filters before the receptacle that are getting clogged, when those filters clog it cuts down on the air that flows through the vac, the air flow is what gives you the suction you need to pick up the dirt. So in order for your vac to keep sucking you need those filters to be clean so you have to pull and clean them by hand, which is a PITA, I would much prefer to just throw a bag out every few months. In industrial dust collection the filters all have compressed air nozzles in the center of them that automatically sprays a burst of air to clean, our personal vacs do not have that, so you have to keep taking the filters out to clean them and if you don't you will continue to loose air flow/suction and then your vac will not pick up the dirt.

				 | The good news...ended up with the Shark Navigator. The bad news...the first time using it, it sucked up the cord and almost destroyed it. 20 mins old and it already has duct tape on it I like everything about it, but the cord holder that is supposed to hold the cord up near the handle is worthless. After almost destroying the cord, I had to wrap a hair tie around the handle and cord to keep it up and out of the way. It sucks, in a good way. I cant believe what it pulled out of my "clean" rugs.

				 | Exchange it for a new one. This one was "defective". It's only been one day. Come on.

and that thing never gives me any issues... The only problem was the price tag other then that it has been great!! We rent the house we live in and even after steam cleaning the carpets and all always thought the carpet was one color after getting the animal and using it a couple times we found out the carpet is actually a completely different color... Which is rather gross to think about lol
