| Ooh, I love Toronto in the summer. Was there 15 years ago and couldn't believe 72 degrees in July.

Doesn't that just sound like heaven on earth? 72 degrees in July!!! I remember the last bit of one summer, Mother and Daddy wanted us to get away before school started to enjoy some cool weather. We went to Red River, New Mexico and when we arrived late night the next evening, it was 36 degrees on an outside thermometer beside the door of the office of the lodge! I don't think it cleared the 50's during the day the whole week we were there. One night we spent freezing cold but enthralled beside a mountaintop lake performance of locals under the moonlight at midnight. There were hikes, picnics, days of horseback riding, crafts, shopping, barn dances, community meet-ups and campfire sing-a-longs and story-telling in the evenings. Then we came back to Dallas the beginning of the next week, school started immediately and everybody baked for the next 3 or 4 weeks.

A couple years at I was sick of 80 degree nights with 99% humidity so I went camping in the high country of Yosemite. It felt so good that first night there sleeping in 30 degree temperatures in my tent at 8600 feet. Couldn't believe it when nights were in the forties once I got to 11,000 feet though! I was having to use my sleeping bag completely unzipped.

| This thread is amazing because I complain about weather here but I'm from Oklahoma and it's HOT there even through November. I miss Oklahoma weather but its nice to read about all of the US weather here and makes me feel silly complaining about 70 degrees as hot here. I am pale, though, so I do burn in the shade... Makes me feel better to justify my unjustifiable complaining..! |

| Oh my God, we had the first real cold front in a LONG time blow in today. Couldn't believe a temperature of 78 this afternoon. First time in a long time I have been able to take Cookie out for a walk at 5:30PM. Every day for months I have been walking her near sunset when the heat isn't so crazy. I can't believe the high here in the San Antonio area is only supposed to be 76 tomorrow. I can guarantee I'll be spending tons of outdoor time with the Cook tomorrow!

| We're still in the mid 90s in Northern CA. What's a jacket? I wouldn't know, just as we don't know what water is here. It will probably be hot through most of October. The boys could really use a break from it, but I like it hot. |

| It's really windy though. On a sunny calm day I'll wear shorts and a T-shirt down to the high 40s, but on a cloudy day with 20 mph wind I'll throw something with long sleeves on.
