I don't think it cleared the 50's during the day the whole week we were there. One night we spent freezing cold but enthralled beside a mountaintop lake performance of locals under the moonlight at midnight. There were hikes, picnics, days of horseback riding, crafts, shopping, barn dances, community meet-ups and campfire sing-a-longs and story-telling in the evenings. Then we came back to Dallas the beginning of the next week, school started immediately and everybody baked for the next 3 or 4 weeks. |
A couple years at I was sick of 80 degree nights with 99% humidity so I went camping in the high country of Yosemite. It felt so good that first night there sleeping in 30 degree temperatures in my tent at 8600 feet. Couldn't believe it when nights were in the forties once I got to 11,000 feet though! I was having to use my sleeping bag completely unzipped.
