I am encouraged but totally jealous that a fellow Texan has got it 10 degrees cooler and we're not all that far apart. Makes me want to whine even louder.

Doesn't that just sound like heaven on earth? 72 degrees in July!!! I remember the last bit of one summer, Mother and Daddy wanted us to get away before school started to enjoy some cool weather. We went to Red River, New Mexico and when we arrived late night the next evening, it was 36 degrees on an outside thermometer beside the door of the office of the lodge! I don't think it cleared the 50's during the day the whole week we were there. One night we spent freezing cold but enthralled beside a mountaintop lake performance of locals under the moonlight at midnight. There were hikes, picnics, days of horseback riding, crafts, shopping, barn dances, community meet-ups and campfire sing-a-longs and story-telling in the evenings. Then we came back to Dallas the beginning of the next week, school started immediately and everybody baked for the next 3 or 4 weeks.
