I recently sold my beautiful very victorian bedroom set, I mourn for it, quite honestly...but still...I love all these styles! lol My dresser was a one of a kind, made by Jamestown Furiniture, in the early 1900's, Kidney shaped and a matching Tall Boy....

I'm thinking I'm more midcentury now.

That must have been hard. We have a Jamestown credenza and living room tables circa 1973. My father didn't think anyone cared about them until my brothers asked about the credenza. My parents bought the pieces when we lived in Scottsdale, AZ. I always assumed they were Spanish inspired until I saw a documentary on one of the British Monarch's very old castles and recognized some of the carvings -- which may have had some Spanish influence.

I'm not much help here as we don't have the floor registers. You could also think about "distressing" them or making them look more like a dark zinc or oil-rubbed color or something via some sprays...wonder if you could do that.

I sprayed all of my standard floor vents with the same Rustoleum brownish grey that I used on my outdoor furniture.

Off topic a little but I just wanted to say that I very much enjoy the HGTV show Fixer Upper.

Chip and Joanna could redo a home for me any day.

I absolutely love Fixer Upper. Its my new favorite TV show, plus they live and film in cities fairly close to me which is neat. Im always blown away by the before and after. Jojo has an amazing eye!!

OOOOOhhhhhhh I don't have cable right now, but loveeeeee them shows, watch them all the time; infact, that's all I watch!!

You might be able to watch it online, I love those types of shows also and honestly Fixer Upper is one of the best I've seen.

I am not sure if I ever shared this but I worked at the HGTV Green House in Serenbe GA one weekend. They donated all the proceeds from the tours to our rescue so we had to be tour guides, It was AWESOME. The house was a modern farmhouse, Serenbe is a green community, such a cool place.

How cool/fun! And "modern farmhouse" sounds really cool...was it sort of a mix of modern meets rustic industrial or something?

Seriously you would LOVE it just from judging on the posts you've made. I fell in love with the whole house and the little city of Serenbe.

It was one of the biggest thrill of my live (seriously), it also motivated me to get a new house.

I love it! Love all the chunky tables they have and the mix of modern and slightly rustic. Loving that backyard space!

The Georgia room was my favorite, it was a 4 season room where the two large walls were all windows that opened up the space. It would be awesome in the Spring and Fall and early Winter.

I also loved the Retreat room which would call a Family Room. The Kitchen, Dining Room and Living Room were all one space, very casual but would be great for entertaining. The Living Room was more for entertaining but not formal all but a huge point was there was not a TV in the room so it was really for sitting in and being social.

The Master Bedroom had a private outdoor patio with two chairs for relaxing. The cute thing about that area is they built a nice little area in the patio area for a dog, it has a built in dog house and part of the privacy fence.
