I also loved the Retreat room which would call a Family Room. The Kitchen, Dining Room and Living Room were all one space, very casual but would be great for entertaining. The Living Room was more for entertaining but not formal all but a huge point was there was not a TV in the room so it was really for sitting in and being social.

The Master Bedroom had a private outdoor patio with two chairs for relaxing. The cute thing about that area is they built a nice little area in the patio area for a dog, it has a built in dog house and part of the privacy fence.

How sweet that they had a little dog house out there, I love it .

Ann, that dog bed looks so good you could actually sell those. What a great job you did with that!

I have this vintage glider I was thinking of disposing of. But then I thought I'll try a fresh coat of paint to see if I can bring some more life into it. I am quite pleased as to how it came out. It was saved from the scrap yard for a few more years...

Thanks so much, I really am loving it...but more importantly so do the furries ! I'm thinking about making another one for our Master Bathroom where we have 3 other doggie beds.

B.J. - SO glad you kept that vintage glider - it's AMAZING! I think it's so cool. Love the new paint job, it looks incredible...looks brand spankin' new!

That is very cool, the paint job has put new life into the glider. You're so lucky, they do not make things like that anymore.

After I painted it I got on line to try to find the one I have. Mine is the one with the "pie crust" pattern, I found one in the colors I did too. I was shocked at the prices these were going for. Some were going for $1200 and as high as $2000. I was not expecting that, I thought is was old junk.

Oh yes. Did you see the wood burning oven in there? I also loved the ivy covered exterior. We are trying to do that here. I hope the HOA doesn't disapprove if we are successful. LOL

I did see that oven, I instantly thought of all the pizza's I could make.

The Ivy is cool, it almost disguised the house and made it flow into the landscaping.

I grow a plant every year called a Sweet Potato Vine, very Ivy like it flows over my patio railings down to the garage area, LOVE IT. I am not sure how it would do in Las Vegas but you should try it (very easy to grow but takes a lot of watering during the host season).

That is one awesome house! Oh my God I loved the atrium, and the kitchen. My hubby would adore this home. He loves large rooms, and always complains that our city home is too small

I just wonder though with a kitchen that large would I be walking miles every day

My dream home is I guess in the States you call it a ranch style here we call it a bungalow. I want an H pattern with the center cross piece being the kitchen and one side is the open family room - the other the bedrooms. Now I don't think I would put in a formal dining room, but maybe a library and future owners could convert if they wanted to, to a dining room. Gotta have an indoor lap pool with a big bath house that contains steam showers and saunas, maybe a whirlpool tub too Grooming room large for the pups with their own bathing facilities

And if I ever win the lottery

Just wanted to share a few pics of our remodel. Nothing fancy design wise, but it's everything we wanted. Simple, clean & semi-modern.

b4 of kitchen DSCN2309.jpg Left the cabinet doors open to air out...The tv was in that niche, such a weird place for the tv (family room across).

after DSCN2365.jpg Please excuse the mix matching chairs, ordering 2 more of the silver base chairs, they're very comfortable! We still need to install over the oven microwave w/vent & stain the cabinets, maybe some paint later. Really wanting custom wood shutter blinds...that'll have to wait. I didn't want laminate flooring in the kitchen, but the contractor said it will look more spacious, he was right, love it!

after DSCN2374.jpg My Father did this, I think it came out awesome! Need to put a piece of molding on the bottom left & paint. Not sure what to do w/the handles yet...

Very nice! Good call with the island in the kitchen! I can't imagine using such a tiny island in the before pic. Love the flooring too!
