Well I have had an estimate on a few things in my bathroom, I am going to purchase the flooring tile, haven't decided what type but I do know I want shinny white in color and when my Son comes to visit in a few weeks he said he would do the job or my SIL would I am sure. The rest I will live with since it's not all that bad and, prices are off the charts. for me anyway.

Home and Garden is my favorite TV channel. I will watch all of you as well and get even more ideas that I can't afford. LOL

I love that bed look too! So earthy and soft.

Would love to see pics of your new floor when you get it. That's so nice that someone in the family can do it for you. Isn't it ridiculous how expensive it is to even do the smallest thing in your house??? Just crazy.

Hey I think that faucet is a Waterstone! I love the fixtures on the walls too. I would love them even more if they were in brass or copper!

We finally got some of those LED candles. Neat, but the light isn't that bright and kinda too orangey. But I think we will keep them. Safer than real candles and since most of our stuff is wood....

Love those light fixtures. I wish the other human in the house was more adventurous when it comes to light. Most standard light fixtures are so ugly and it hard to find anything that looks right in a colonial style house, so why not go bold? We installed a few can lights, but they radiate so much heat. Definitely not an option for the kitchen, and I really don't want 20 of them in the ceiling. The big rectangle fluorescent needs to go someday. Blah!

Kristin, I replaced the bulbs in all my can lights with LEDs and they are so much cooler and cleaner, dimmable, and last like 22 years. On sale at Costco

Thank you Sandy, I will try those. Are your can lights the ones where the bulb is visible or do they have a 'shade'? I'm wondering if I would like the shaded ones better for diffusing light.

Lol, I just bought some more LED candles today for outdoors . These aren't made of wax like my indoor ones, but of plastic...I hope they look okay when they arrive, they had good reviews.

Those light fixtures would look SO COOL w/ your faucet!!!!

Is anyone else obsessed right now w/ black-paned windows, black interior trim, black interior doors? Bc I am. I painted our garage door all black and put "No. 8648" on it in white, I just love it! I wish I had the energy to paint all our interior doors black, I think it'd be so sharp/fun.

I love the black trim windows. The mansion in the TV show Revenge has them and it is beautiful.

For a colonial house and some Spanish styles, I love when everything is white except the stained wood doors.

I really like the black interior doors. We want to paint ours but don't know what color. They are just white now. I think it's look great with the door trim and base boards left white. Downstairs we are going to paint the walls a metallic copper. I said to do the walls first then decide what to paint the doors.

Ann, do you have a pic of your garage door? I'm having a hard time picturing it, but sounds cool. We'd never be able to do something like that. We have HOA here LOL.

Eek! I hate those! Those are both in MIL and my dad's place. The worst is when you see a dead bug up there.

Oh so that's the difference. I was wondering. Make sense now. I saw some at Ross yesterday and was wondering what the heck was the difference. DUH!

I have to exchange one box of the candles. One didn't turn on, one didn't turn off, one didn't go to the timer mode, and the last one the batteries would keep popping out.

My bulbs are visible and I think they were on sale for around $8 ea and my kitchen alone has 9 with even more in great room, dining etc. With all those bulbs, the new LEDs use 85% less electricity, are cool, dimmable; love them.

But yesterday at Costco I saw the new LEDs with the shade and trim on sale for $12, and I def like those better, so brought one home to try. Unfortunately if the 36 bulbs I already bought last 22 years like they said, I can't justify changing them out again just yet.

22 years, that is wonderful!

I will have to try one with the shade before I buy for all of our canister lights. If I like the LEDs, then I will put the can lights in our kitchen to get rid of the fluorescent rectangle.

Priscilla, I have to clean bugs out of that ugly light constantly.
