YT 2000 Club Donating Member | No meat eater over for Easter Supper Okay here is what I thought I'd do. I have a lamb roast already ordered from the butcher. I was planning an asparagus souffle, roasted baby carrots, and parisienne potatoes - maybe if I have time Potatoes Dauphonoise. Lemon cake for dessert/plus chocolate profiteroles. The chocolate dessert is a man eater of time. But I could do the chocolate dessert - start it Thursday, finish it Friday, do the lemon cake Sat. The problem is........ Oh yes the appetizer was going to be a fresh fruit medley - with tartish salad ingredients - drizzled with some very fine olive oil - and a soupcon of raspberry vinergarette. I just found out that a good friend who is coming to dinner doesn't eat meat but still eats fish. So I thought I'd roast some salmon in the oven with some fresh rosemary and tarragon. I think those veges will go well with the salmon; or maybe I should buy a white fish and poach it in a white wine vinegar concotion. What do you think? Just wondering if I should go with a white fish or the salmon? I could also broil a lobster tail - if that would go better with the whole meal.

All dog folks - so we bring our dogs to each other homes Great fun, of course the dogs all train together too. Best is everyone has extra crates at home so we don't need to lug extra crates when we visit. Everyone has playpens for the Yorkies, and extra big crates for the Blackies. We let the Yorkies tear around together. Then they go to play pens, and the big ones come out. Just depends on how many dogs we have. Magic usually gets to stay out with all the Yorkies as he is very good with the wee ones. Shtorm is too, but we only let Shtorm and Magic out together when we BBQ outside. That way they can give each other space. WE don't let the un-neutered males out with the females - unless the females are of their household. So basically it sounds complicated but it isn't. One large stud out, with not in season females of any pack. Then one goes back into crate, the other one comes out, and we just rotate. Sometimes we need to put a young female Blackie away when the Yorkies come out, cause it would just be too much temptation for her prey drive. And sometimes females of certain different households don't play well together either. But hey we are all close friends and we work it out. All dogs except maybe one are crated when we eat, so we can focus on our food enjoyment. Then after dinner, a nice pack walk for all. I am so looking forward to BBQ weather.

| I don’t know what half of those words mean, but it sounds YUM! I’m not much of a salmon fan- too strong for me.. I am more of a whitefish kinda gal- I never had lobster either… well I had a taste of my Mom’s at Sizzler, but I don’t think that counts!

| I was just thinking all of that sounded so delicious...I wonder how long it would.. take me to drive to your place!!! I love any kind of fish and salmon if it is made right is one of my favorites!!!!! You sound like a fabulous cook...I would make the one you think you would have the most fun doing (keeping in mind that depending on how you prepare the salmon you might have a smelly kitchen!)

♥Love My 3 Furrbutts♥ Donating Member | Sounds wonderful...and I'm only 45 min from you...so what time should we be there? You could do the salmon in a dill/lemon sauce....a lot of people don't like salmon, white fish is more universal I think.

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Thanks Gals. Been racking my brain, to recall if she eats the salmon or not. I am pretty sure there was at least once we had a BBQ with salmon as the main "course". But I think I will go with the lobster tail - I believe the forecast is for a mild wkend. So I can have hubby bbq the tail. This time of year I begin to really look forward to the first big BBQ of the season.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I don't eat any meat, but do eat fish/seafood on occasion. Salmon can be iffy - some people don't like it, period. Other people, like me, like it when/if someone knows how to keep it moist. You can't really go wrong w/ whitefish...like with garlic butter, or just butter and seasonings. For our holidays, we always make hubby meat - and then we also always have crab legs, which go so well with the rest of the dinner (we always make garlic rosemary mashed potatoes, mushroom bisque (or salmon bisque), popovers, and apps...and a brined turkey if it's Thanksgiving). Lobster tail is always good too!

| I was a vegan for around 8 years and I recall plenty of times where I would go to big holiday dinners and there was no vegetarian entree. I did just fine eating the side dishes only I don't like salmon. I love tilapia though.
