| Silly travel questions...humor me! DH and I are going on our honeymoon at the end of the month. We are flying...which makes me an anxious mess. When we went to Disney 2 years ago we got slammed with baggage fees (overweight AND oversize) going there and coming home. I want to make sure I stick VERY closely to the guidelines so that that doesn't happen again. 1. I usually wear sneakers to fly, but find that my feel swell on the plane and I wind up taking my shoes off. This time I was just going to wear my flip-flops on the plane (we are going to an island). Should I even bother bringing my sneakers? If I put them in my checked baggage, they will add weight (they're clunky skechers). If I carry them on I won't be able to fit anything else in my carry-on bag. Thoughts? 2. Hair appliances. I use the Revo-styler (as seen on tv product from about 15 years ago) to blow my hair out and my hair looks like crap without it. I also use a flat iron on occasion. If I bring the Revo, I have to bring the charger, which again will weigh down my bag. What should I do? Bring both? One or the other? Neither? I don't want to look back at honeymoon pictures and be upset because my hair looks crappy. This is why we hesitated on planning a honeymoon to begin with. I hate flying and all its restrictions. I know these are positively ridiculous concerns...so maybe I at least gave someone a good laugh today!

| Oh dear, I know what you mean!!! I know I'm 'over here', but we've loads of restrictions, too..... Firstly, I always wear flippies - we have to go through so many scanners and take our shoes on and off, and I just can't be bothered with it - if someone wants to desperately look at my feet, then let 'em.... To my way of thinking - if I need other types of shoes/boots/trainers/whatever - then there are shops wherever we go! But, where hair-care is concerned - I'd personally take all you need - you won't feel comfy if you're all askew, and you'll be wary of the piccies. Take the lot, I would! So, which little island are you going to....surely not ours?!!? Sally x |

| imo i agree wear flip flops and take ur hair essentials.. its most important you look and feel beautiful on your vaca even if that means you have to pay a lil more in the baggage check department.

| Roxiesmom! you are too funny! So wear your sneakers but get some very thin, white ankle socks to wear with them, also lace your sneakers looser. Maybe buy a pair of lighter weight sneakers? I just got some nikes at Kohls that I could wear as earrings they are sooo light! Love them waaaayyyy more than my clunky Sketchers for lots of things! If it were me, I'd pick the 1 hair styler you want the most and use the most and bring that. Leave the other one at home. Also think light weight summery clothes. don't overpack your clothes. Bring one sweatshirt and thats it, you can always wash it there. I bring 2 suitcases, a larger one for clothing and a smaller one for shoes, toiletries, makeup and hair appliances. Some airlines allow up to 2 suitcases free, southwest does I think. Also, put what you can in your carry on. Ive put a ton of things in a carry on bc it's not weighed. of course that means your new hubby has to lug it around the airports! Oh well, you are newly weds, he'd probably do it with a smile this time! haha HAPPY HONEYMOON GIRL!!!!! enjoy yourself! don't worry about your looks more than having a GREAT time!!!

| One other thing, I have VERY thick, curly long hair. sounds nice, but believe me it's not. Its curly right to the root so it's extremely large hair and it gets frizzy really fast. I cannot wear my hair down when it's curly. I love to straighten it bc it straightens so nice and its not that hard, but it takes awhile to do. On my first cruise I brought all my hair 'essentials' my blow dryer, straight iron, the million bottles of anti frizz I use, the oils and all that for straightening my hair. Well it ended up not being worth straightening my hair. I either got wet everyday in the ocean/pool/hottub etc... or the 'steamy' hot showers with my hubby (hehe) turned out I didn't even bother with my hair anymore during the trip. All that luggage space wasted! haha Next cruise I didn't bring my straight iron at all or my blow dryer. I went from wet hair and put gel in it and wore it curly, its natural state. Get some pretty clips or something to put your hair up, I had some silk flowers or sparkly clips and it looked pretty! Again, HAVE A GREAT HONEYMOON!!! Mine is in 3 months and I CANNOT wait!!!!

| Thanks for humoring me! We are going to the Bahamas...and honestly, I don't know if I will even need sneakers there. I'm packing some sundresses that I just bought and I have one pair of very comfy Clarks sandals that go with just about everything, so I am bringing those. I was debating the hair care stuff only because when I went to Florida once in July it was SO HUMID that I wore my hair in a very frizzy ponytail the whole trip. It looked terrible. My hair is presently not long enough for a ponytail, so that's not even an option. Yes, these are the things I think about.

| Wear your Clark's on the plane since it sounds like you may be wearing them again once you're there.

| My Clarks are so cute and comfy...I actually made DH get me the exact same pair yesterday while he was at work so that I would have brand new ones for the trip...LOL. Right now I am scouring Youtube for tutorials on ways I can style my (short) hair without blowing it out...braids and twists and things. I just know the humidity is going to kill my hair, so I want to try to be prepared. Every video I've watched involves using bobby pins...something I admittedly have never mastered.

As far as sneakers, if you're going to be doing a whole lot of walking, I'd say bring some, but go and buy some lighter weight ones because the heavy sneakers will not only weigh your bag down but they'll absolutely weigh you down too when you're walking. Happy Honeymoon!!!

| I would wear the sneakers only if you planned on using them for serious walks while on vacation. If not wear a comfortable pair that you know you will wear on you trip. I also put the heavy stuff like the hair appliances in a roller carry on. I don't remember if you mentioned hair dryer most hotels have them nowadays. also check the web site on the weight restrictions for your checked baggage, some have lowered their max weights lately. Spirit is now at 40 lbs and Delta the last I checked was still 50 lbs so make sure to check and weigh your bag at home. I just got a new suitcase because the one I had been using had really heavy metal bars to support the rolling mechanism, I think the suitcase weighed almost 15 lbs empty! Have fun
