| credit card fraud At about 1:30 am my time, i got an email from walmart.com. Saying that they were processing my order for a new ipad for $600. I was "WHAT?". Even when i was working, i would not have spent that much. I went to walmart.com for the details. it said was to be picked up at a store in Ohio. I am in TN. I called the credit card company. They said they would "investigate" it and see about taking the charges off. They said that was all i had to do and they would send new cards. I called the store that was listed and spoke with a manager. He took my name, phone # and order #. Said would turn it over to their security and if the person tries to pick it up they will be charged with credit card fraud. I am so upset. It is 2 am here and now i can not sleep. worried other charges i have not seen yet. The order had my name and address for billing info. Will be looking at my credit card account very carefully. be careful!

| Scary, isn't it, to think how easily someone that wants to and has tad bit of knowledge about us, can take the credit we have slaved to build and steal from us using it. Outright robbery without a weapon! I had one of my credit card's Fraud Division call me yesterday about an internet charge that was without my normal range of online purchases and the expense was simply described as "professional services", giving me pause. I worried a good deal about it and who was charging me for "professional services" and for what until I checked my Day Planner and saw that day I had bought a doll on Ebay for just that amount of money. In checking the name of the person I found it was the same. But for a bit, I thought I had been hacked or defrauded and it was very upsetting and disquieting. I can't imagine what it's like to really have it happen for real. Thankfully you read that email they thankfully sent and got the account closed and hopefully nothing else will show up on it and you can put this behind you. It is all too common a story that we hear these days. It's robbery and theft - the thug just don't sneak in the back window or put a gun to your head! I'm so sorry you are having to deal with this and worry yourself sick all hours! I hope you get some good information soon, your credit isn't affected and they catch and punish the crook that did it and the store gets their computer back.

| What is ironic is that dh plays farmville on 3 different accts and when he buys something for it with real money, i get a call saying they have put a hold on the account until we say yes, $ 10 was put on the card to this company. My dd was with a step cousin and one of the step cousin's friend. The cousin does not have the greatest morales shall we say. She saw dd's credit card fall out of pocket in the car and the other girl take it. Dd found out it was gone when the card company called her to tell her someone had tried to buy several gift cards at walmart (turns out she got away with it and went back for more with the card). When dd confronted the step cousin, she said that she needed things for her baby (the cousin's) so she did not think it was so bad. And it was not her that did it though she benefited from it. we keep a close eye on our finances, esp with all the bills coming in from my hospital stay. I am still in shock from it.

| I imagine you are in shock - they're coming out of the woodwork to get your $. Well, try to let it go for the night and if you can, take a little something to help you rest, drink some hot milk and huddle under the blanket with your poochie and dh. Be Scarlett O'Hara tonight if possible! Hugs!

| Just another reason why we have no credit cards. If we can't pay cash, we don't get it. The only thing we have financed is our home. We also have flags on all 3 credit companies. If anyone tries to open a line of credit, it automatically flags it and they would contact us. It's only happened once, when a supply company ran a soft credit check under my husbands social instead of the company tax ID.

| I have LifeLock....everything locks down if they try to open an account....Chase bank makes me sick sometimes with their security...if I use the card anyplace I dont often use the card, they stop and call. If the amount is over what I usually spend on a card, they stop and call. I went to visit a cousin and poor soul had no groceries...I took her to the grocery store and bought groceries, used my credit card...they called me while I was standing in the line, to see if that was actually me! Instead of signing the backs of my card, I put on there, "check ID"....of course, that does not help with on line fraud....Walmart is supposedly the worst offdender for credit card fraud and check forgery.....that comes from a cousin that is in law enforcement that deals with this type of crime. |

| I am so sorry this happened to you. . The sad thing is they will get a slap on the wrist and that's it. Or that is what happens in our area. . Doesn't matter that they put you through heck. I think a thief is the lowest of low. We work hard for our stuff. And it sucks when someone can come and take everything in the blink of an eye. I am curious, how did they get your info? Was it online? Maybe we need to look into Lifelock too. Yorkiemom1, I totally believe that about Walmart. For over a year a lady used my health insurance for prescriptions at a Walmart. They never caught the difference in names or anything! The sad thing is, neither did my stupid insurance! I called Walmart and complained. They never followed up. Called my local police, they were too busy to mess with it. What was done, well NOTHING. They don't check a persons ID on most things. I send my son in all the time with my card or check. Never has he been asked to show an ID. And he is not on my account.

| After doing some searching where i do my online shopping, the only site that we had more than 1 card listed was ---take a wild guess----you got it: Walmart.com. I could not get through to one of my card sites, so dh will when he gets home, as i do not know where the access code is. I never use the acct myself. I have deleted the card info. After looking online, I saw where in April many people were talking about walmart.com getting hacked and charges showing up on thier cards.

Unless a customer disputes anendorsement or says their checks were forged no human ever looks at them...you can sign your check Mickey Mouse and it will clear the system no problem It is up to your bank teller or the cashier in the businesses where you shop to catch these discrepancies.

| It is sad to hear of yet another victim of fraud. I too received a call from Chase and when I checked my checking account history I found a bunch of pending transactions, all from Internet sources. One was from a dating service, I told them my dh would not be happy about that one. It seems that when I had used my debit card at a restaurant, someone decided I should fund their Internet spree. The fraud department told me that with technology today, they can walk past you with a device and it will pick up your card info. I bought a metal card holder that cannot be penetrated. Since it was caught in time, all the charges were denied and only my peace of mind is gone.
