| Well..went to the doctor after a long and painful day at work. Xrays showed no disc or spine damage. It is only muscle spasms and a pulled muscle. No bending...no lifting and I had therapy and go back tomorrow for another session. I guess DH will just have to wait on me hand and foot like I have done for him for 33 years Thanks for all the get well wishes

| Just seeing your thread, Michelle, sure glad to read that you havn't gone and slipped a disk or broken anything. Hope you are feeling better soon! I had something similar happen many years ago. I had a "crick" in my neck and went to my chiropractor for adjustments. In a week or so I was all better - or so I thought. I had all three kids with me and we were walking across a busy parking lot street and I went to take a step and my leg would not move. I was standing in the middle of the street with my three young children unable to move. It was very scary. I know that it was only a couple of seconds, but it seemed like hours. Anyway when I was able to walk again I was in agony in my lower back. I went straight to my chiropractor and he said that it was common when you have a problem in your neck to have an issue with your back a short time later. Seems like you over compensate with one part of the body putting more stress on it to protect another. After a few adjustments, heat and exercise I was good to go. |

| Been there, done that! Sure hope you feel better soon. Immobility will be your worst enemy so try to keep stretching and a bit mobile during down times. Have you ever used the Icy Hot patches? I love those.

| I am trying to keep moving. If I am stationary for long periods it does get a lot worse. Need to get some of those patches

| If you get fresh ones that aren't too old, they really help the pain and last a good while, so try to buy from a big store like a Wallmart or something where they are constantly restocking and reordering. A little pharmacy tucked in the old section of town might not have freshly made ones and they might not be as strong still. Those patches have made the difference in whether I slept many a night. I get the Extra-Stength version - much better.

| Amen!!! lol I never realized how many times a day..you must bend over to do a task, simple little things that I cannot do right now. It is very frustrating. I have the utmost sympathy for anyone who lives with chronic pain

| WOW what a difference a day makes!!! Had my second treatment today and wow...pain scale has gone from 9 to about a 3 in the last 12 hours. I still have to be careful and my back is still very tender...but the spasms and the excruciating pain are gone!!!! Thanks so much for all the well wishes and advice!! I see light at the end of this painful tunnel Now if only I could get some good news about my skin cancer. Went back to the dr this am for suture removal...and got the bad news...they didn't get it all It was a squamous cell carcinoma. I am going to call the Dr who did the MOHS surgery on my DH basal cell he had removed from his lip. I don't want to lose any more tissue than necessary.
