If you get fresh ones that aren't too old, they really help the pain and last a good while, so try to buy from a big store like a Wallmart or something where they are constantly restocking and reordering. A little pharmacy tucked in the old section of town might not have freshly made ones and they might not be as strong still. Those patches have made the difference in whether I slept many a night. I get the Extra-Stength version - much better.
