I personally feel... again this is MY OPINION only... Zimmerman is guilty. I arrived at that after reviewing the information I had.. I just don't think this should have caused a life. period. Even if Treavon did hit zimmerman.. he weight half his weight.. it was not cause to kill him. If someone was following me and I was frighten I would hit too.

Also, yes if your or my child was killed in the same manner we would fight like heck... but I still don't think there would be riots in our name.
I have seen it... I have lived it. The same week this happened there were other crimes... violent crimes on innocent people that hardly made the news.. and justice was not served either. I don't have answers, and the whole thing makes me very sad..

It is indeed a tragic story. I feel sick every time I see his mother on tv.

As for the comment about him maybe being on drugs...all I can say is we will know for sure when the autopsy report comes back....but sadly we will not know if Zimmerman was drinking or on drugs because no one bothered to check him.

Interesting...his hand was in his waist band? Obviously, Zimmerman had HIS hand on a gun.

911 tape said the guy has his hand in his waist band I did not read that any where I actually heard it. I would assume Zimmerman had one hand on the phone and one of his gun but we don't really know.

Actually, I will say, there was a TON. People were sickened and outraged. I still am unsure about the whole Casey thing. I watched bits and pieces of the trial, but I don't completely disagree with the jury's decision; there simply wasn't enough fact and evidence totally against her. I personally believe she gave her kid that poisonous stuff (clorafil, or something or the other) to knock her out and go to sleep, and didn't really expect her to die. Horrible person IMO but don't think the jury made the wrong decision based upon what they were given.

I agree that I really like the way Trayvon's parents are handling the whole thing - very classy. And I feel for them every time I see them on TV. NO ONE should bury their child.

I also definitely think Zimmerman should have been investigated a bit more right after it occurred and don't think he should get off scott-free. The parents certainly should fight for their son, so he doesn't die in vain.

Actually, I have seen the video of George walking into the police station, and I did not see these wounds that some claim to be there. The video was really not the best quality; however, there were some things that one would expect to see after a life or death struggle that I think you could see in that grainy video. I must also qualify, I worked in human medicine and have worked on ppl in trauma. I have seen what ppl look like after a "fight for their life". To be frank, I did not see signs of a life or death fight. Perhaps a small scuffle (and that is stretching what I saw), but not a beating - let alone something that rose to a life or death scenario. Ppl's clothing are usually very disheveled, torn, stained. There are pain behaviors ellicited as they move, etc. Also, emergency med personnel normally take someone to the ER for evaluation, especially when dealing w blunt head trauma. If a subdural hematoma was suspected, I am sure the EMTs would have transferred him to an ER, and if he refused such treatment, there would be an AMA form signed to cover the EMS's butt legally - per healthcare policy.

I really do not understand the justification of this man's actions. I also don't understand why he still had a weapon, was serving as a neighborhood watchman, etc.

He has a violent arrest record. One arrest for domestic violence. Two different incidents of resisting arrest towards a police officer. Not exactly your upstanding citizen. Shows a propensity for violent behavior. Unfortunately, his father is a retired district magistrate in the county where he has exhibited this violent behavior.

Unfortunately, bc the police did George a favor and did not follow protocol, his clothing was not seized for the investigation. This will make things harder to prove or disprove. He was not given the mandatory drug/alcohol test. He also did not have his weapon confiscated until an investigation was completed - also mandatory protocol.

He ADMITTED he was following Trayvon. How much more evidence do you need? He had no business doing that...PERIOD. He is not a cop.

Since Mr. Zimmerman denied Trayvon his due process by not waiting for the police to arrive and taking matters into his own hands, then Mr. Zimmerman should not mind if he is denied due process. His denial of due process will only result in prison time - it resulted in loss of life for Trayvon.

I should qualify, I do not believe in denying ppl due process. It is what helps us stay a civilized society (well, sort-of civilized anymore). However, I wanted to make a point about why it is important not to deny ppl of due process just bc they look suspicious to us.

IF they feel that Zimmerman can't get a fair trial in the county where it all happened; they will move the trial to another venue.

No one is going to make a ruling that he can't get a fair trial anytime, anywhere. If that were the case - none of the 'high profile' crimes would be tried.

The sad fact is unarmed people - many only teenagers - are killed by armed people every day in this country. If not shot, they are knifed, choked, killed by blunt force trauma, etc. A lot of them are killed just going about their business or trying to do their jobs.

Even though we've heard things on the news, we should always be able to toss that out of our minds and look at the evidence that is presented. Not all evidence is presentable in our country. We must believe in the constitution so much and understand that is the most important thing, and we must willing to protect the accused constitutional rights at all costs, even if that means finding an not guilty charge when we know in our hearts he’s guilty.

Truthfully, I think some of the high profile cases find jurors who bend over backwards too much on being "fair".

Also, his lawyers can call for a retrial if they don't think he got a fair trial. Didn't Casey Anthoy's lawyer do that before the jury was sent out? I'm pretty sure he did. The judge denied it, makes me wonder what would have happened if the whole thing had been retried.
