Yes, thanks for starting this thread! I was so worried I was all alone & had truly screwed up some where!
I had to practice some tough love after a bad start in 2011 & took her phone & ability to do anything without family supervision for about 4 months.

Maybe a bit much, but now she knows it can happen & I pray she never forgets!

LOL...catch my DD on a bad day & I don't think you could pay someone $12 to come take all of her "accessories", let alone her! Or at least throw in some of those heavy duty ear plugs/muffs that they use at a race track.

Yall are cracking me up!! I have decided that Im not real crazy about 13yrolds,been there 6 times,Ya 6. The past two years have been so tuff emothionally and it isn't even my husband or my kids, that I have pretty much put my "give a D,,," in a box in the bottom of the closet. We have a few saying around here. The first is the rules of adulthood "All things in moderation that are reasonably moral and nontoxic",this means that even good stuff can be bad stuff if not in moderation. Another one "lack of planning on your part,does NOT make for an emergency on my part" that means that if you didn't get it on the family calendar then I will not transport you. If you dont like when dinner is or what it is,you can fix what you wish as long as my kitchen looks like you were NEVER there. I cook for the guy that pays for everything.
Each of my children at some point has tried to play my husband and I against each other. Number 2 child tried it after she was 21 and I told her what I would of told any woman that came between me and my man,she wont ever do that again. As a matter of fact,the other two girls were present and they probably wont ever try it.
When they start demanding things I tell them what my daddy used to say "spit in one hand and wish in the other, see which fills first". If you WANT then GET A JOB!
I also tell them that if they are foolish and hurt themselves I will try to support them and help them anyway that I can,but if through their foolishness they hurt an innocent animal or person,then the law will be easier on them than I will.
I must be a very mean mom,but so far my kids dont really give me much grief and they dont talk ugly to me. Our house,over the years, has been the place to hang out for about 15 other kids besides mine. Because the rules are simple and few several of them have ended up staying with us for a time.
I have a friend that has 7boys and she says when a young man (any one under 30) cannt behave,they need manuel labor. I have used this for all of mine. If you drop by my house unannounced and my house looks like a maid came through, we had a trying week. If my house looks a little messy then we had a good attitude week.
Just because we love them,does not mean that they should be able to be rude or walk on us. A moment of ugly attitude around here will get you a mop and broom to use. There is a neverending list of stuff that I want done in the yard and in the house in my brain and my kids know it. If they get up in the morning and they have an extensive list of things to do,they can look back on the day before.

OMG thank you! I think the reason why I haven't have kids is bc of my mom. blech! If y'all only knew!
