Now my two are off at college on their own, I get random calls & texts thanking me for always being there for them and for how they were raised and asking if I know just how much they love me

. A few years ago, I couldn't have even imagined that would ever happen....

Well, Michelle...I used to assure young Moms when they were complaining about the potty training stage, "Now honey, I can assure you by the time Johnny or Janie gets into High School...they'll be trained!"

However, I can't say the same for indulging ones children and it's become a growing epidemic that I see the effects of more and more working with the elderly in the home health care giving business. Their adult children are sometimes "still" living at home and "still"dependent on their parents...and they don't even help out "still"!

We did not give them everything they thought they should have growing up. They did not go without, but by no means did we spoil them.

The hospital where you had yours must have had an ample supply of those, "How to raise a child" books. I know my hospital ran out, or I didn't get one, or I lost it. Who knows??

OMG that is where I see us in a few years..DS will be 40 and still here....can I shoot myself now
