| ![]() Ashton shouldn't have been smiling/laughing like that. It was disrespectful to the court. Baez went on so long & would have fallen asleep. I'm glad that Ashton gets to elaborate tomorrow when the jury is fresh to explain what true reasonable doubt is. The jury just has to use common sense. If it makes sense or not. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | ![]() I recorded it all and just got finished watching, I'm so exhausted, I can't imagine how tired the jury is. I really believe they've got a case for first degree. Prosecution can still tie up some loose ends tomorrow, but there's really no doubt in my mind.

| ![]() I really hope they convict her and give sweet Caylee the justice she deserves. I don't have cable, so I can't watch the trial even though I've wanted to. I'm catching up by reading this thread and googling news articles. Are they supposed to reach a verdict soon?

| ![]() I don't think there can be a "reasonable" doubt. Problem is, one or more of those jurors may be one of those who has to have a picture of the murderer holding a vial of chloroform in one hand and a roll of duct tape in the other. Some people don't seem to be able to use any logical or legal inference from a series of related facts when it comes to 1st degree murder and if there is one or more of those on the jury, it will be a problem for the prosecution. I'm glad the judge allowed the prosecution another day - plus they can now include the charge to the jury explanation with their rebuttal as I understand. That could be a real plus, unless there is a rogue juror. I know the prosecution case has convinced me is was premeditated murder once they had the testimony about the three pieces of duct tape in the area of where the nose and mouth would be. How likely is it that those pieces of duct tape - that might be from anywhere and anyone in that swampy woods, according to the defense, ended up attached to the hair on the skull and in the area right where a nose and mouth would be if any soft tissue were left? Big coincidence? And if not a coincidence, we all know why it was there and who was last with that child before she had duct tape on her. There is no evidence anyone else was with Caylee before she died except the mother. The prosecution has a witness, the grandfather, that places the child with her mother when last seen alive. As to any lies by the grandfather about an "affair", remember when all the talking heads said that "everyone lies about sex" when Bill Clinton was caught lying to the Grand Jury? They said that lying about sex is done by everybody and it doesn't impeach everything else you do in life. Seems like almost everyone has forgotten that now that talks on TV! They want to hold George to a totally different standard than they did Bill. Anyway, it will be interesting to see how the prosecution closes tomorrow and then we will all see what happens!

I’m a little confused on one point, and I think they’ll discuss this more tomorrow. It sounds like the jury can find “premeditated murder” or something like, “aggravated child abuse resulting in death” both of which would be “felony homicide”. I probably didn’t say that right, but it sounds like she didn’t have to necessarily “plan” the murder in order for the jury to find “felony homicide", but it sounded like both would result in a death sentence, and this is what I'm confused about.

| ![]() Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but, I thought only the majority was needed to vote for the death penalty in the state of Florida and so the jury doesn't need to be unanimous?

♪♥ Jazi & Izi's Mom ♥♫ Donating Member | ![]() I do believe she caused that baby's death, but I also believe that when Caylee was alive, Casey had been a good mother. No one ever said anything negative about her mothering...which I do find shocking.
